We have some positions open for Citi Group. The positions avaliable are (Customer Service Sales Associate) and (Customer Service US Auto Club).
In both positions, you take in-bound calls from Citi Customers (types of calls will depend on which position you choose to do).
The Sales Associates will take calls from Card holders and help them with any inquiries they have with their account, address change, etc. and offer services to the customer.
The US Auto Club Associates will assist customers who are a part of the Citi Group Auto Club. Very straight forward positions.
In the Service Sales Position, the base salary ranges anywhere from $8.91-$11.00. Everybody who is hired gets started out at least $10/hour and if you have some experience, you'll get $11.00. On top of this, you can receive shift differentials. 10% on top of base if you work the evening shift. An extra 10% if you are bilingual. And an extra 20% differential if you work a weekend day. You also get a monthly bonus check on top of your regular pay (ranges anywhere from $200-$2500, if you're only making $200 extra a month though, then you basically aren't even trying, average is about $1300-$1700 bonus a month on top of base salary). This position pays really well after you add your bonuses on top of your base pay. Everybody gets a bonus check each month.
The Auto Club Service Positions I am not too familiar with. I know that they start out at a little lower base salary, not much lower though. I believe that you do not get any bonuses either.
Benefits kick major ass. (Full Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Stock Plans, Vacation, Personal Days, Holiday Pay, Very Nice Food Court, On-Site Fitness Center (Very nice, not the typical cheap one, personal trainers included, on-site sports medicine doctors, etc.), Incentives out the ass (this month, they gave away a high definition big screen television, and a trip to Paris).
They also have "Fun-Money" which you can spend on buying portable DVD players, PS2's, X-BOX's, etc. We also get corporate discounts on cell phone plans, Citi Credit Cards, Mortgages, Restaurant Discounts, Movie Theater Ticket Discounts, and the list just keeps going on.
Tuiton reimbursement is available if you are going/plan to go back to school. They pay 80% of the tuition and your major doesn't have to be business related, like the other 99% of companies require that also offer tuition reimbursement. If you plan to go for a Masters though, it then has to be business related. They also have on site day-care facility services if needed. There's a wellness center with medical staff on duty, with a good doctor. If you're sick, he can write you a prescription on the spot, take it up to Eckerds/Walgreens and receive it free of charge.
All in all the company is very good to work for and the facility is gorgeous.
PM me for more information.

HA this brings back memories. i applied there about 4 months ao and they rejected me!! i woke up at 6am to take there stupid ass tests and then im not hired! and when i ask why they say "we cant tell you" what a crock
BoostLogik
04-24-2004, 09:35 PM
Yea, I've been rejected from a couple jobs before too. Personally, I think Human Resources is a bunch of shit. I know what you mean by the "we can't tell you why".....most likely due to company policies. I've actually had a HR Rep. try to lie her way out of screwing me out of a job one time. This was after taking a test, going for 2 interviews, then them saying that I did really good on the interview and they were reccomending me for employment. They said I should be getting a call within the next couple of days with an offer. I waited for about a week and no call, so I called back and the f*ckin bitch in HR says that I wasn't qualified for the position. You could imagine how pissed I was to here this, especially since the job was not super hard or technical in anyway.
My viewpoint, HR is useless and those people don't deserve to get paid near as much as they do.
D33flat, sorry to hear about the bad news man. If you decide to try to apply again, hit me up sometime and I'll try to help you get in if you are still interested. I can maybe help try to pull some strings for you. They are kind of selective here, because they want to hire people who are really interested in the position. It does pay really well and the benefits are the icing on the cake. Definently room to advance in this place if you are looking for a career.

04-25-2004, 12:36 AM
they're not too picky, they hired some kid i worked with at pizza hut, and he was a cook making like $6/hr lol, he works for the auto club section i think.
i would consider this but there's too many people i work with at progressive that came from there and have horror stories about having to meet a quota and stuff, i can't take high stress telephone crap.
BoostLogik
04-25-2004, 04:14 AM
Yea, they do expect you to hit a quota, but they are not like a typical sales company that treats the employees like slaves. They understand that sometimes shit happens and sometimes you may not have a great month here and there.
That's what you have to expect though if you want to earn a bonus check. Unfortunately, I don't think any company hands out "free bonuses" to people. Even in your instance with gainsharing, you guys have to do a good job so that the business does well, which equals more $$$.
Some people just aren't cut out for selling things. Here, it's really not hard at all. Just have a pleasant voice on the phone and you will have them sold. The cool thing is we actually offer really good services that save the card-members money. For example, we have a program called CitiTravel that saves customers money on hotel fares, car rentals, etc. When they sign up, they get two free companion tickets, which alone, more than pays the fee for the service. What's great about this is that you get the customer to enroll for the first 90 days free of charge. They can cancel before the free trial ends, but they get to keep the free tickets. So, as long as you get them to enroll, as soon as you hit that "enroll" button to send them the package, that is a sale. Even if they call back in an hour and decide to cancel, you still get to keep the sale. Another great thing is Balance Transfers. Customers automatically call in to do a Balance Trasfer and all you have to do is set them up for it. Voila, automatic sale there.
So basically, yes it is Customer Service and sales, but the sales here are not hard to make. It's not like trying to sell some junk window cleaners, magazine subscriptions, surveys, etc.
Progressive is a good company though and if you are enjoying it there, then by all means stay. The most important thing is that you enjoy your work to an extent. (Of course, I know work isn't actually all fun and games, but there are "good jobs" out there.)
I just came here because the money is better, they work around my schedule better, offer tuition reimbursement for the major I want...which doesn't have to be business related.
No company is perfect and there will always be horror stories coming from them. I bet some of those people didn't even get through training and give the actual position a chance.
The Auto Club is not hard to get into at all. That's like the bitch department there. Lower hourly rate and no bonuses. The sales position is really not that hard to get into either, but I guess it's hard enough to filter some people out. You take the same test no matter what, but they may have a lower standard for the Auto Club position, since it is an easier job and less to learn.

04-25-2004, 12:09 PM
What did you apply for? I'm guessing you applied for the Auto Club Position, because I know they have testing days open throughout May (they may even have some left for this month) for the Customer Service Sales Position. After the pre-screen online, you should be prompted to pick a test date. YOu can scroll through the different months and find out which one is best for you. If you decide later on that you can't do it that day, you can go back online and re-schedule it.

Company is still hiring guys, just opened up a 3rd floor for the Customer Service department. If you are looking to actually start a career and not just some "job"....this is the place. The Tampa campus has over 20 businesses on it alone that are all a part of CitiGroup. CitiCards, CitiMortgage, Saloman Smith Barney, etc.
Kick ass pay and benefits (Employee Credit Cards, Tuition Reimbursement, Medical/Dental/Vision, Paid Vacation/Holidays/Unplanned Time, Stock and 401K Plans, Discounts on Shopping, Cellular Plans, Road side Assistance Program, Entertainment, Etc.)
There is an ass load of room for advancement and many different avenues that you can pursue if that is what you are looking for.
The starting hourly base pay is around $11.00 per hour, not including your monthly bonus check. You get raises on your base pay throughout the year as well. My last bonus check was $786.37, not including my base pay. I brought home $2,606.37 for the month and I just got out of training a little while back.
Feel free to PM me or reply here for more info.

why is the calendar empty for me? where can i see the dates for testing?
BoostLogik
05-27-2004, 02:19 PM
In terms of the calendar being blank, I had the same problem when I first applied online. You can do one of two things. I know for a fact that they are still hiring. They may just be having some problems with the page. M249SAW, I don't know when the next date is, so I would suggest to check out when the next available date is again online.
1). Wait a couple of days to see if any new dates are posted.
2). (What I did)....Go through the pre-assesment for the US Auto Club Position and you can maybe find some testing dates under there. It doesn't matter which position you went under to set up your test date since both positions meet in the same place and take the same exact test together.

When you complete the test, the HR Rep. will tell you if you passed or not right after the test. If you past the test, she'll schedule you on the spot to come back for an interview. On the day of the interview, just use the tips I gave you in the previous PM I sent you. The person that interviews will basically tell you after the interview whether you are hired or not.
Any other questions you guys may have, definently feel free to PM me.

BoostLogik
06-07-2004, 02:35 PM
What I would suggest doing is instead of dialing her number, try dialing a different last digit, this will get you another HR Rep. Keep going up and down the number list until you get someone. I had a couple people said they got a hold of her, so I suggest to keep trying. I don't know why the website doesn't have any test dates.
Again, it may be possible that they filled up quickly and they just need to add some new future ones. They do testing every Tuesday and Thursday and when I come into work those days, the Visitor Lobby is just slammed full with people each time.
Examples for getting HR Reps:
Say Angies number is 123-4567
to get other HR reps, punch in:
123-4566
123-4565
123-4568
and so on........
Any other questions, PM me.

06-11-2004, 09:59 PM
I won't get the referral bonuses for 3 months, but I can wait. The lowest someone can make is there hourly slary. Basically, they don't bring a bonus check home if they don't hit 70% of their goal. 70% is not hard to hit though. I maintained a 167% throughout training. This one girl on my team hit like 212% and received a $1900.00 bonus check on top of her base pay. Attaining 100% isn't hard at all either. You'll see when you get in there that you can hit over 100% pretty easily. As long as you hit 70% of your goal, you get a bonus, if you hit 100% and above, you get an accelerated rate of pay, basically more money. You also get a bonus if your team does well for the month too. Even if your team doesn't hit goal though, you still keep whatever you make, you just don't get the "team bonus."
Referrals are awesome here. You get $500.00 for a staff (non-exempt) level position employee. $1,500.00 for an officer (exempt) level, non -technical job, or $3,000.00 for exempt level hires in technicl job functions.
Overall, the money potential is really good here, and it's not like you are on straight comission. They have a good base salary rate, before any differentials or bonuses.
Technically, off of you 3, I get $1,500.00 just for referring you all. Of course taxes are taken out, but who cares, it's free cash.

I don't know for sure, but I am pretty positive they will still be hiring more people then. They are opening up a whole new floor in our building. I think they are talking about expanding also. Our department of the company is booming big time.
BTW, they will work with your school schedule. I go to USF also. They also offer reimbursement on your classes too if you need it. 80% is what they will pay and it does NOT have to be business related. They will pay up to a 4 year degree. If you decide to pursue a Masters and above, it then has to be business related.

yes the benifits are awsome put for everyone that is trying to help this guy out with the referal bonus, ask everyone you talk to during your hiring where you need to put the info at so he can get the bonus. ask the tester, the interviewer, the trainer, your new manager, make sure from day one you write their name down as a refferal or he won't get jack. A friend of mine got hired in cards and asked about the referal for me every step of the way but when I went to my manager and hr for the bonus they said that since he didn't write it down when he went in for testing that I was S.O.L. also the tuition reimbursement is 80% but up to a cap of 5k a year, if you go to hcc your ok, but if you go to an expensive college then your gonna hit the cap. don't get me wrong it is a great place to work and has its ups and downs, just expect your manager to be nice to you and try to help you out but also expect that if the manager needs approval from his/her boss you WILL be treated like a number and your situation won't matter it'll be your stats that talk for you.
You don't have to be a rocket scientist but you can't be the neighborhood halfwitt. in cards you do need to be able to learn about financing and to be good you have to be fairly quick with simple math, but common sense is not required as everything is straight from policy, in usac ( auto club ) it helps to know cars ( lowers your call times ) simple logic and common sense is not required but makes your job sooooooo much easier. If you can believe that someone really does drive a 2003 kia (manufacturer) honda (model), or a lincoln civic, then don't go into usac. It is steady and stable work with great bennifits, just read the fine print.

Yes, you help people over the phone, but there is sales also. The nice thing is, that it's not near as bad as like telemarketing sales. You take in-bound calls rather than calling people outbound. As long as you know the products and learn some of the tricks from the people who do well there, you'll do good.
