Ok, for those who are unemployed or are looking for a new job I have the solution . Special Data Processing, is the place for you. They have a two week training program that is paid, exceptional benefits, and they pay every friday( and don't hold the first week). Special Data is an imbound call center and has been around since 1984. They have 1300 employees that work form the facility, and around 400 home agents. There is 8-10 different departments within this company. They believe strongly in promoting from within also if you don't like the current department you were hired for you can transfer, or if you feel you are qualified apply for supervisor, accounting, quality, trainer just to name a few . S.D.P hours of operation are 8:00 am to 12:00 am. Shifts very depending on the amount of hours you choose during the work week.

P.S. For those of you who are students or just don't like driving to work they do have a homeagent program that has been established for a little over 5 years now.

Also, there is not a cap on the amount of income you can generate...... My brother works here as well, and neither of us make less than $1400 a week (we are 19, and are part time students). Oh and for the non believers we have pay check stubs to prove it..... The record for most $ made in one week for our department was set by my brother after taxes his net pay was $3,800.00 and again i state pay check stub's to prove it....

If you are interested pm and I will give you all contact information.

You sell magazine subscriptions.

People think they are calling in to claim a prize - you try and turn them to buy a magazine subscription.

Not really, S.D.P primarily deals in the distribution and circulation of magazine subscriptions. I have worked for the company for 7 months my brother has worked for S.D.P. for over a year. I was just trying to help you guys out with a possible job opertunity. Yes it is telemarketing, not there is not any out bound or cold calling, yes it is all inbound. There hours of operation are 8Am- 12AM there are many shifts available. I am not saying hey you have to like it, but i am 19, am yet to start college, and I make more in 1 week than most adults make in 2. All I am saying is just give Robert a call.......(727-524-3600 ex 4024) he is a real cool guy and will have you come in an talk to him. Just ask coxhead he spoke with Robert( if you call him just let him know you spoke with me)

Yea I went in and got hired on the spot. Seems pretty promising. I start training on the 26th. I have talked to a few people who work there and have learned the secrets of how to make the money. I will let you know how it is after I actually start taking calls.

Once again thank you.

Hey all. I worked here for a little over a month. Imo its an awful place. I dont want to discourage anyone from this place but I know about 25 other people that have worked at SDP and we all hated it. Calls are monitored. Your pressured on selling magazines after you enter someone into a sweepstakes. Repeat the same script hundreds of times a day. And unless you are extremely well with selling magazines you might not want to work here. Yea the pay is good but you have to be able to sell. So if your a seller go for it, but if not please dont waste your time. Again This is imo.

ok here is a tip even though it is to late for you.... Request a inhouse transfer. There are around 15 different departments you could transfer into. The best department by far is collections my friend worked 35 hours and made $815 take home. In the collections department there is only 2 sentences of script. all you do is work out payment you already have all there information aswell. Very laid back work environment.

ericmichael
05-05-2004, 11:06 AM
Alright heres the thing, how do you guys say "It sucks"? Yes it is a scam for the customer who is calling in, but it's so EASY. This is my second week of training and I'm on the fllor this week in transition and I am doing hella good. Trainee's are on Gate 4 for the incoming calls which is one of the last gates so we get the last of the calls. Yesterday (Tuesday) my second day on the phones I got moved to Gate 2, which is where the actual Sales Floor takes calls on my SECOND day in trans. This job is cake. I have already been told I was going to get transfered to somewhere else. Anywho, if you don't like sales, just try it out, it's PAID training. You have nothing to lose. I have NEVER done PHONE sales and I am doing outstanding. I am almost number 1 through out all the trainee's.

Good luck. BTW THIS JOB DOES NOT SUCK.

Alright look guys/gals. They hire ALMOST everyone who applies. Just walk in and apply and you will get hired. Wear khakis and a polo shirt, it's business casual.

Good luck. If you have any questions PM me.

Also I don't think they have part time shifts.

Its a very nice place, not too much parking though. I dont know about schedules yet, as they werent available at time of interview. But it seemed they can be flexible, to a point ofcourse. Interview went pretty good, i red a small script, got a tour of the building. Overall gave me a pretty good impression.

Pay rate is flat 8.50 per hour OR 12.5 commision for each transaction. If you do 1 sell per hour, you'll make more off commision then hourly rate.

It is 8.50 per hour for your first four weeks. After that it drops down to 7.50 per hour but if you stick with it you will most likely hit commission every week.

1400 is a lie.... this was my first week on the floor, i had the most ups in my team, and the most calls, i was above the percentage of calls we are supposed to transfer, but I get yelled at for going too fast, so I try and slow it down, and he tells me im still goin too fast, and I have people hanging up on me left and right, so he says he is gonna monitor me, and give me a review, so he shows me the review, and its pretty bad, im like wtf lemme listen to what you heard, and u know what, IT WASNT EVEN ME, it was another nick on the team, it was retarded

supposedly the team im on now, is the best team in the place, best person in the team had i think 36 sales, 36 sales times 12.50 is 450, before taxes, and 36 sales is a lot, so thats 450, well say 15% taxes, thats around 382, is that ANYWHERE near 1400? Hell no, you have to stand the shit-hole sales floor for monthes, before you can go to verification, thats where they make better money, but most still dont make more than a grand a week, SDP is a shitty ass place to work for, supervisors ive met are assholes, you are constantly getting yelled at for better stats, and things you learned in training for the most part dont apply.

bottom line if u wanna make 500$ for training, go for it, but being on the floor sucks, and after day 1, i dont think I will be going back ever again

That entire place is a scam. I am very good with telemarketing and phone sales. Have a good presentation on the phone. Infact, when I was going through their training (SPD) they pulled me out early and put me right on the floor. 1/1000 might make the proclaim net pay the above has mentioned. But for most, you will not. Its considered a high stress enviroment and basically a place that will eat your brain. You do nothing all day everyday and say the same thing all day everyday. Everybody, do yourself a favor and either go to school or do what I did. Went back to college then went into law enforcement (the sheriffs office paid for my school as well as paid me a salary while attending.) I have made just shy of 50K for the past 2 years and made just under 40K my first year(not including the 15K the sheriff office puts towards my retirement each year). I only have 2.5 years left until I am vested for retirement. I am slated to retire at 55 where I will collect a check for more than 100K and a monthly retirement check of ( I have 2 options) either Option 1 $6,249.29 Option 2 $6,121.05 per month. I don't think SPD offers a retirement plan. But I may be wrong. my .02
