For corporate aircraft. We cant find anyone? We have like 10 spots to fill and cant find qualified people. Problem is you need an FAA A&P license and you have to go to National Aviation Academy to get it. 14 months of training and you can get a job making $15-$20 to start depending on who you go with and proir experiance.

Corporate Aviation is one of the most secure jobs around right now. With the advent of "fractional Carriers" like Netjets and Flight Options that sell and manage 1/4 shares of aircraft ownership...it has opened up private jet ownership to thousands of new customers.

There will soon be two types of carriers. Low rent low cost no frills cattle haulers like ATA, Southwest, Air Tran, jet Blue and others for us regular types. The rest of the moderately rich that sometimes traveled first class will invest in fractional ownership and smaller increments of reselling Corporate flight time. I cant begin to tell you how this market is expanding because of some very clever businesses that have made it more accessable to the mildly rich.

Very little chance of out sourcing these jobs to other countries. The corporate aircraft do not have the range to send them to places like China for major overhauls. It would also reduce aircraft resale if this were done anyways. Also the people that buy 1/4 share ownership of these aircraft would pitch a fit as well.

I have been in Corporate for 8 years now. It looks as if another 20 years will be gaurenteed at this rate. Raytheon has built two new aircraft types in the past 5 years. The Premier and the Hawker Horizon...both are carbon fiber composite. We have over 5 billion in orders for these aircraft just from fractional operators alone. We cant deliver them fast enough.

Anyone looking for a career may want to consider this as an option. You wont get rich....but there is room for advancement and you can be making $45-70k a year within 5 years on average. And its as stable a job as they come in these times.

No possibilty to get a job first. Get your licens while your in if possible. To get you license..since you arleady have authorization...call up the local FAA office...and ask where the closest person is that you can test with. He will be a designated examiner and you can take the tests with him present. It will cost like $70 per test for the three written sections. Then you have to find someone who can administer the oral and practical to you. Then all the paerwork will be submitted to the FAA and you will get your license. Will cost a few hundred bucks that way. Thats how I got mine.

To pass the tests. get the FAA questiona and answer books. Pick one book...go through it and highlight the correct answer. Then go through and read each question and CORRECT answer only. Before long you will have all the 500-800 questions memorized. Its easy. Then take that test you studied for. Then move on to the next section and repeat the precess.

Call you local FAA office to get the info on where to take the tests.

Pheonix...you have to finish school before you can get a job. There are local jobs here in Tampa and St. pete, Orlando, Sarasota. But there are also jobs elswhere across the country. Some regions pay more. Some companies pay more. The airlines pay the most...but you will start off at one of thier main bases and you will work nights to start.

Aircraft mechanic here. I have a few years in the field (vandenberg airport mostly) working on "bug-smashers". Cessnas, Pipers, Mooneys, etc. for a flight school and for private individuals. I currently run my own custom paint business but I wouldn't mind hearing more about this.
get in touch with me. blue@bluekustoms.com ro 813.295.3309
