Looking for a good, affordable steak house

Looking for something in Tampa preferably within 15 minutes of downtown. I'd like to stay ~30/plate.

I'd say the most affordable good steak would be found at Sam Seltzer's. They are on Dale Mabry about a mile north of the stadium.

Right on US 19 N in Palm Harbor in the Best Western hotel. Its just south of Klosterman Road. The Best Western sits on Lake Tarpon. Its a really nice location.

If you are willing to spend around $30 for an entree I'd say check out Bern's Steakhouse on Howard.

Granted, it's very easy to drop alot more more money then you want to spend there but all entrees include soup, salad, potato, and 2 vegetables. Plan on spending a bit more and make a trip up to the dessert room, it's well worth it.

Tours of the kitchen and wine cellar are also available...so you can end up making an evening out of dinner...and I'd take the tour if it's your first time there, there is alot that goes on at that place that you can't appreciate without the tour.

Sam Seltzers in nothing impressive.

It really depends on your location. Leatherbacks Steakhouse out on madeira beach has great steaks, from choice sirloin to USDA Prime NY strips.
Berns is a standard.

Outbacks are everywhere.

I had some waitress at Longhorn's think it was funny to joke about spitting in my food when i asked her why she wasn't smiling. She said, "its cause i'm worried if you will notice that i spit in your food." :whoa: Dude, i effing flipped out in the middle of the place during dinner rush. Thank God i hadn't eat'n anything yet. I almost smacked the bitch right there! Needless to say i will never go back to a LH, and it ruined what could have been a great night out with the family. Its kind of ruined my desire to eat out...can't figure out why.:dunno:
But hey, at least my mom gets to eat at any LH for free for the rest of her life(her favorite place). Yeah, i made a huge deal about it. :-P

Don't let one dumb waitress ruin getting a great steak man. Better steak than Outback, Ruth Chris, Malio's, or Donatello's IMHO. Only place that I think could be better or even is Grill 29 in Channelside. Only had it once though so its tough to compare with.

Meh, the 3 times i have eaten at LH i wasn't to impressed with their food. I've done steaks that far and away beat the ones i've had there. Maybe i have just gone to the wrong ones.

I've ate at tons of steakhouses and I think Frontier Steakhouse is the best. It's on Sligh Ave, just off 301. Not only the food, but the atmosphere is nice.
