Any ideas on getting motivated to work out? I want to work out early in the morning, but even if I get a good 8 hours of sleep or more I always put it off. Any ideas on getting better sleeping habits or feeling better in the morning and actually wanting to work out? Or after a long day of work, what can I do to motivate myself to work out rather than nap or lounge around watching TV? I used to have no problem doing this on a regular basis about 6 months ago.

You just have to do it...once you set a routine it will be easier to stick with and make a habit out of it.

I still haven't found a good way to get myself up and moving in the morning but something you might want to try for after work is to not sit down when you get home. Walk in, grab something to drink or snack on, then go get changed and work out. It will be alot easier to just get started then trying to get up off the sofa to go work out.

Its all about determination and will power. Just how bad do you want to?

Do you have a partner? It is allot easier if you go with someone b/c then you can give each other shit if one tries to puss out.

agreed with the partner. also, schedule a beach outing with your friends one month from now. the fear of embarrassment of taking your shirt off should scare you into the gym at first, with the thought that you'll become addicted later:lol: you can get decently buff in a month.

agreed! gordon really pushes me, i wouldnt be able to do it if i didnt have him as a partner. its hard for me to get motivated, so he helped a lot. now that we've started going to the gym regularly together, i really dont need as much motivation bc i actually enjoy going now instead of dreading it as i was before. seeing results and feeling better about myself is what keeps me going! you just have to really want it, its gonna be hard to start at first, but once you get into it, it'll be hard to quit!

+1 on the partner. Billy and I do our workouts together.

I think that your partner must always be stronger than you or else you're right back to trying to motivate yourself. Having someone stronger around will push you more.

definetly get in a routine and get a partner if you need to. im freakishly disciplined about it, so i almost never miss a workout, but having someone there pushing me helps me get better workouts in.

Go with a friend that works out all the time. After the first day, or first few days youll get competitive and if he is a good spotter/partner then they will verbally encourage you do your best.

If you have a pass to lifestyles on dale mabry or hyde park Id be more than happy to work out with you and give you some tips.

I usually watch MTV and think if I want my ass to look like that I have to keep working out. That usually gets my ass into gear.
