But yea, today i went to the gym, as usual, and cardio just kicked my ass, AS USUAL. I hate it. I wish i could get un-fat without cardio.

I do strides... actually going 100% makes me hurt in very strange places... 90% gets the job done for me. I don't think I have actually done full-out sprints since I stopped playing baseball.

Yeah, I used to do sprints alot but haven't in a long time. I figured I could mix that with my time on the treadmill to change things up a bit.

I do legs, of course. But doing legs only goes so far, i need to drop about 10% of my body fat, that requires a good diet and some good cardio.

I guess you're right. I was 198lbs of fat ass, did 30 minutes of bicycle riding every day followed by some weight training and dropped down to 160lbs in less than 2 months. Now I'm back up to 175-180lbs with most of my fat being the whiskey belly I have.

i hate cardio too! i just do the bike. i cant do anything high impact bc i have bad knees, that and i'm scared of gettin shin splints again! eventually, im gonna advance to the eliptical machine, its just people are always on those!

buy an iPod if you dont have one already vito. it has done wonders for my cardio if I'm listening to music i like instead of staring at the time slowly ticking by. 45 minutes feels like nothing now!

+1 on the ipod.
Just put your favorite music on a playlist and zone the hell out. Makes 60 minutes feel like 20... when your on the elliptical that makes a difference.
Switch off treadmill to elliptical... Your probably getting bored.

I have to do the elipitical (sp?). I was running for a while, but got shin splints in both legs and could hardly walk :( Hurt like hell with every step.

Yeah, thats why I stopped treadmill and started Elliptical. My shins, knees and hips hurt like a motherfucker. After I did elliptical for a few days I felt better than I ever have, except when I played soccer... Ahh the days of being thin.

+1 I hate cardio. I can do other stuff for an hour or more, but 15 minutes on the elliptical and I call it a night :lol: As much as I hate it, i usually fit some in though, to even out my workout and get my heart rate/metablism up.

I love my lifting, but cardio is so good to you on so many levels. I used to put out some serious cardio. After awhlie I started to really like it. now I'm running with colby.

I am physically incapable of doing cardio. I've always been horrible at it, even when I was a kid. I can't breathe. Thought it was asthma, but inhalers don't work. :dunno: I can do the treadmill, but only at like 3.5mph for 30min. Pathetic.
I was going to start making my punching bag routine into cardio. Speed it up a little.
It barely takes anything for my heart rate to go up :roll: But I need to do it to shed a few more pounds.

That was until the doc did a bp check and found that mine was dangerously high, and Im 24. After I got on meds I could run much more efficiently.

i really cant do cardio outside, i have trouble breathing, im do fine inside though. my blood pressure is fine, but i was recently told i need to be treated for chronic bronchitis, so that probably has something to do with it.

I must agree! I like cardio only so much and that's not that much. :lol: I'd much rather do some weights, etc.
I have to mentally force myself most of the time. For example, right now I need to go work out and I prefer jogging, etc outside and it's raining. This is difficult. :lol:

I had high blood pressure as well and I'm the same age. I was able to go off my meds recently, but it didn't help me any when I was on them. I actually felt exhausted sooner b/c the meds wouldn't let my heart rate get up high. My BP is back to normal 120/80 and I still suck at cardio.

I despise running. I used to do an hour a day 3-4 days a week. The crappy part is thats what works the best to drop weight. I was down to 225 and maintaining even eating somewhat crappy food often. I need to figure out what I'm going to do now though. My knees are shot and I get shin splints bad so I don't know about running. Biking takes too damned long to do, and I can't do more than a minute on an eliptical for some weird reason. It kicks my ass much worse than running for some reason :dunno:
