Well congrats on getting out and taking some photograph, now you just need to work on the fineties of it. I would start by picking a nice location and doing some shots near dusk 6:30-8pm and try some different angles, along with getting lower. I think you will be surprised with the results. Good luck.

Just as Rob said...I would head out to shoot a little earlier in the evening.

Also, the "urban/industrial" look for the backgrounnd/setting...it's key to pick somewhere that looks "industrial/urban", but not "dirty".

Well, dirty works too. At DownShift, we have coined the phrase "Mike Dirty" to describe those sorts of locations.

Let me give you some examples of "Mike Dirty" Down Shift style.

Haha, bish.

On second thought with your directional ability or lack there of, you may be serious that you cannot remember how to get there.

Nice car...but get rid of the fake cage. ;)

You can get some nice shots after dusk though, you just gotta control what light you have. Be sure to always use a tripod and shoot with the lowest ISO (you'll end up with a longer shutter speed but that's what the tripod is for). If you camera has a custom white balance feature, learn how to use it! You'd be surprised at what a world of difference it can make in your shot.

You're on the right track, just keep working at it and you'll end up with some great stuff. Watch the focus though...it seems like it's a tad blurry (don't know if you were using a tripod or not).

that's a fake cage? Man!..what will they make next, fake intercoolers? oh wait, they already have those.

Since your bumper is black - continue that black scheme throughout the lower part of the car.. all around. I think that'll look pimp. Just use vinyl - its cheaper.
