I could put in $6250 @ 10% for 38 years, deposit $1000 annually...

(so thats a $44250 total investment over 38 years)

and its projected* to yield $702,885.94 in 38 years (thats tax differed)

* = its high risk, but thats the projected path right now.

i'm going to look more into this, but those of you know about IRA's feel free to comment!

If you haven't done so already I would consider a Roth IRA... unless the rules have changed on those you put $ in after taxes however you do NOT pay taxes on the $ you earned when you pull it out.

Not too many places where you can make taxfree earnings on your dollar.

If you have a company sponsored 401k plan with a company match thats the first place to dump $........ free $ > *

damn, moldy is buying the beer next time.

I just converted a 401k rollover to a roth ira. Pay the tax now and take the money out tax free later.

roth is by far your best bet. pretty much if you find a good IRA i would put at LEAST 15% of your income into it per year. realistically, if you have a comfortable investment plan and stick to it, you really cant go wrong.
