Here I shall impart upon you.. gentle reader.. my rediscovery of a classic album. It existed before the Tom Cruise hyped version, and after the original and is better than both combined.

I give to you, the new old hotness..

Its a double disc album telling the H.G. Wells story of the War of The Worlds. It was produced in 1978, and keep that in mind when you listen to it. Its a musical, but has comentary/voice over along the way to tell the story.

Its told from the perspective of a newspaper jounalist in the late 19th century in england. As it progresses the synthesized effects and music really really lend a great deal to the story. You can hear the martians heart beats in the heavy bass guitar riffs .. you can feel the heat of the heat ray as it cooks people alive .. hear the victory in the roars of the martians as they enslave all of humanitary.

Tuely a moving story, and the more you listen to it, the more it sucks you in.. definately 5 kangaroos on this one people.

for those broke bitches.. you can find the torrent on mininova.com - search for Jeff Wayne.
