got my digital XT in today, this thing is like 3/4 the size of the normal digital rebel, which kinda sucks bc i have big hands, so im probably gonna get the battery pack grip add on soon. picked up a 1 gig card and a polarizer today.
it starts up a lot faster and focuses a lot faster the the digital rebel, the first things that i noticed in difference.
got the all black one, with EFS lens, 128mb card, nice carrying case and lens leaning kit off of ebay for $850.
we will see how she performs this weekend at formula D, chicago.

Congrats. I was playing around with an XT with a 200mm telephoto at the Auto-X last weekend and aside from the thing being too small I was certainly impressed with the improvements over the 300D. Strap that vertical battery grip on there and you'll be set. Also, congrats on getting the prosumer black model...just looks so much better than the consumer silver.

Congrats man
Hope you've got some long glass for formula D, the kit lens probably wont be long enough for any action shots

I'd rent a 400mm for the Formula D. Certainly, worth the $50 for the awesome reach and tight shots.

atlanta definately needed the 300, when i was in houston, the stock lens would have done, but ill have a 300 with me.

the other thing that kinda sucks is the XT battery is smaller, and they dont have any aftermarket ones yet.
guess ill be taking my car power inverter and the stock charger just incase.
