This article was in the new flex. Cutler backs me up. granted everyone has a different aproach, i just wanted to prove i wasnt fucking nutz and have some sort of knowledge about the human body

After you work out, you want carbs with a high glycemic index, the glycemic index is a scale describing how fast food is converted to glucose in the blood. the higher it is the faster the spike, the lower the number the slower it breaks down

Not to mention, there's way better things that you can put into your body after workout than a CARBONATED, high fructose corn syrup beverage.

He mentioned to me that other things may work slightly better, but he LIKES Coke, and this is his chance to drink it.

I use Powerade for this purpose, shortly after i have my protien shake.

Yeah I do it for the same reason Jay fucking cutler does. Its a perfect time to endulge and not harm your gains.

I wish I could learn how to be such precise machines just as yourselves LOL

Carbon Dioxide negatively affects the oxygen level in your blood.

Honestly, I'd much rather have a Snickers if it's in the morning. A moderate level of fat, and a high level of sugar. I have a feeling there was a Coke endorsement in this ad.

If I'm going to drink something with carbonation, it's going to be a beer.

Thanks for the artical Donnie. Good read. Is there a timeframe to drink a beverage like this? Reason Im asking is when I get home from the gym, I take my CEE, then 20-30 minutes later I do a protein shake and about 30-45 minutes later, I can drink something like this.

Seriously though..wouldnt drinking coke for its high carb/cal/gi be considered dirty bulking?

If you're doing that anyway, then I dont see much harm in it.

Most of the stuff I eat is based on a clean bulk...so that's I'm stricter.

If it works for you (or Jay) and you believe it in, DO IT!

Yeah..its not uncommon to take in 4500-6000 cals while on cycle..

What it all boils down to is this... you have one goal and 10 different people that have achieved that goal. If you ask them how they got there, youll get 10 different answers. Ive said in a different thread that you cant even begin to compare what the pros do to what we (beginners/ novices) do. Its a whole different ball game for what they have to do.

Imagine how big i'd be if I did ;)

I lift like a pro, bitches. Im not playin! and juicing or not juicing really doesnt make a difference, insulin aids in the the muscle reconstruction. plain and simple. I love drinking cocacola and this is a justified time to do so. Even when i am cutting, ill have 12 ounces right after a workout, even before my shake, which i usually have about 5 mins after i get home (carl, drink it asap, the quicker your insulin spikes, the quicker recovery begins.)

oxygen levels LOL, are you kidding me? sometimes this place kills me :)

Keep the feedback comming, most of is good info!

Blood pH

The pH value of a liquid is a measure of the acid-alkalinity balance. A pH of 7 is neutral (neither acidic nor alkaline) and every one point change in the pH measurement is a 10 fold increase or decrease in acidity. Pure water is about a pH of 7, or neutral. For blood to carry oxygen to the cells the pH of blood must be between 7.35 and 7.45 (slightly alkaline). If the blood pH drops to just 7.2 life may not be sustained.

Carbonated beverages are very acidic. They measure 2 on the pH scale or about 100,000 times more acidic than pure water. After consuming a carbonated beverage much of the liquid goes almost directly into the blood stream. This tends to make the blood less alkaline. The body will react as quickly as possible using various methods to bring the blood back to the ideal pH level. The body will use other alkaline fluids in the body to neutralize the acid. One of the ways the body neutralizes the acid is to use up the calcium found in bones. Therefore, bone loss is a first obvious negative result of prolonged consumption of carbonated drinks. You might remember high school chemistry when the teacher placed a tooth (calcium) in a carbonated drink. The next day it was much smaller or gone completely. The acid in the soda dissolved the tooth. The same thing can happen with our bones.

Secondly, less alkaline blood inhibits blood flow and oxygen delivery to the cells. Normally, red blood cells have a slightly negative electrical charge. Since like charges repel each other the red blood cells are kept separate and free flowing. After consuming a carbonated beverage, the blood becomes less alkaline, the red blood cells loose their negative electrical charge and they start to stick together like stacked coins or pancakes.
Rouleau -stacked red blood cells This condition is called rouleau. {1} and can be seen in the photo on the right. Since these stacks of blood cells cannot negotiate the small capillaries, the blood flow is inhibited, This condition raises the blood pressure and oxygen delivery to the body's cells is reduced. With the lack of oxygen, yeast and molds can gain control over the cells causing different forms of anemia.{2} (The yeasts and molds also love to eat the sugar that comes with soft drinks). One noticeable immediate effect of rouleau is cold hands and feet.{3} The eyes have very small capillaries and poor blood flow can cause damage to the eyes. (Salt and saturated fats can also compromise the electrical charge on the red blood cells. )

And, while there isn't enough in 12oz of coke to do harm, I'd much rather find my happiness in a piece of candy. Granted, if you consume a lot of coke...

Oh, and I do suggest doing research, as you can learn quite a bit.

It makes a lot of sense, too. Carbon dioxide is a waste of product of the body, and you want to consume it?

I'm more curious about the "most of the people posting on this small site will be lucky to ever see 200 lbs, EVER." comment. What exactly does that mean?

Well I'm not in that group..i'm 240 ;-)

To take what Exhaust said earlier, if you take 10 people that have done what you want to do and ask them how they got there, you'll probably get 10 different answers. I'll say 75% of the time its not about a right or wrong way, instead its whatever works for you.

I just work out everyday and eat a healthy diet and the rest seems to take care of itself. No shakes, no protein bars, just working out and eating healthy. :dunno: No confusion there.

While it very true that black people have the best genetics for building muscle, I wont say why because I dont want to be called a racist.... actually, Ill say anyways. When they were slaves waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back when, the white man bred them to be strong as workers. It was actually proven scientificaly. They also have a slightly different muscle structure that whity does.

But you're skinny.SHEEEIIIIITTTT!!!! I dont think I'm skinny, or even slender for that matter. I weigh 235 and I'm 6'3, and if I dont watch my weight I can balloon up in no time. I've been as heavy as 285 about 4 years ago.

defiantly true, its just like breedinga dog, lion, whatever, if you breed the bigest and baddest and narrow the small and weak, you have a very strong breed, which is exactly what happened with slaves, they got the biggest and strongest from both male and female....
