Being the TampaForums national correspondent that I am, I will be giving periodic updates from the road. This week takes me to the lovely local know as Lansdale, PA. The trees are green, the grass lush and the temperature is just plain HOT!
To give a quick overview of the trip now taking place I woke up bright and early this morning at 6am and was shuttled away to the airport by my lovely wife so I could begin my journey. After dealing with the masses crowding like cattle in the security line I made it onto the airside and to the appropriate gate. Luckily the gate agent saw me coming and started prepping to begin the boarding process so I wouldn’t have to wait around to long. So after being ushered onto the plane and taking my window seat in First Class I settled in with my book to begin my 2hr 15min flight to Philadelphia.
Having set my book down and falling asleep shortly after takeoff I was awaken by the jolt of the landing gear making contact with the runway. We’ve landed. I gather my belongings and start my trek through the airport to the baggage claim area. I don’t have to wait around the carousels for any baggage, I had carried on, I just had to make my way outside for my private coach to the National Rental Car center.
Once there I begin the search for the perfect car. Looking through the selection at the Executive Elite section of the property I settle on a silver Chrysler Pacifica. Looking inside I noticed the nicely appointed leather interior and wood grain paneling. After adjusting the seat and mirrors I settle up with the lot attendant and start my 45 mile drive from Philly to Lansdale.
Along the way I had the normal encounters with bad drivers, people not paying attention and almost running me off the road, getting lost, stuck in traffic due to road construction but I finally make it to my final destination.
I won’t bore you all with the details of work, but we had some minor issues that we were able to resolve, some we weren’t and some we just don’t care about. So, then it was on to the hotel. Checking in I found that the place wasn’t that bad. Normally I stay at Hilton properties but this time around I had to go with a Comfort Inn. But, they own the Bennigan’s across the parking lot and their free wireless internet extends there as well. So, after working out I’ll probably head over there and make another update during dinner…we’ll see.
