I kinda know what they are. But I was watching cnbc and they said that nobody has ever lost money from a Money Market Account. Is this true.

Money markets are pretty stable, but still a low return. if you want to get a 10-20% return, I would put some money there as a cash reserve and put another percentage in something with a higher return.

You will never make any money trying to nickle and dime your way to the million dollar mark.

What would it take to lose money in a money market account? Crazy inflation?

I dont understand I thought money market had to do with stocks. Am I correct? If it is stocks how can they give back a consistent return.

If inflation is 3%, and so it your ROI, you end up with very little.

money markets may play the stock market in order to pay interest to the invester, but on your end, all you see is the interest rates fluctuating. they can be high and they can be low, but they can't be negative. i don't think it's possible to lose your initial investment with a money market. worst case scenario, the market pays zero percent interest and you end up exactly where you started. however, if the market simultaneously experiences "crazy high inflation," your x amount of money, while not actually decreasing in quantity, can decrease significantly in value.

the solution? Where's the problem, we're not anywhere near 3% inflation right now. Personally I wouldn't even consider the headache of investments unless I'm seeing AT LEAST 6%, or I could invest it in marketing and see 300%, so take a guess where my extra $$$ goes.

direct marketing, defining who my target market is, and contacting them through a number of advertising methods. This way your offer is presented directly to your potential clients. Find what methods and ad pieces get the best return, and go from there. If you want to quit going after 3-10% returns, your best bet is to forget about traditional investments. Focus on making money YOURSELF. This is a capitalist society, however most of society spends and invests as if we were in more of a socialist type economy, my opinion as to why the growing wage gap and income inequalities continue to take place.

Find something you're good at, something you enjoy, something that has a need, and figure out how to present and sell that need. To many people become comfortable making 30k a year, scraping by, and work all their lives for somebody else. With some hard work, a solid business plan, and a little luck, you could work for yourself, retire early, and of course make more money. If you jump into something with little research, poor work habit, or bad business plan, you probably won't do well.
