Ok, I'm getting political here. For those of you tired of seeing Uncle Sam take a substantial chuck of your hard earned money. I have some recommended reading. "The FairTax Book" by Neal Boortz and Congressman John Linder. These two refined gentleman are advocating a 23% national retail tax on consumer and service related goods. That way, you pay money on what you SPEND not what you EARN. All other taxes (income, social security, MEDICARE, Capital gains [which really chaps my ass, because I invest in the stock market, everytime I sell and take profit I have to pay 33% tax on my earnings..])go away. So, read the book. Hell I will GIVE you my copy as long as you promise to read it!

Spread the word...take action!!!

Write senator Mel Martinez, or whoever you want and tell them to pass H.R. 25, the FairTax bill!

This is not a conservative or liberal issue...this is a way of life issue

I agree with a flat sales tax as well. What I dont understand is where they are getting 23% figure from? Most of the estimates I have read have ranged from 1-13% national sales tax. The only thing I can think of is they have excluded taxation from certain goods from the sales tax, thus driving their percentage figure higher.

23% is the figure that Boortz and Linderman came up with in order to sustain the Fed at it's current level. Actually, if this is passed into law, we will see very little price adjustment as there are already imbedded taxes withing products we buy today.
