View Full Version : Who Runs a Home Poker Game?
And if you do, what is yours set up like?
On Thursdays at 9pm, I run a 10 week tournament style game. 25 dollar buy in, 10000 units to start, 15 min blinds, 2 rebuys, pay out first and second. 20 of your buy in goes to the weekly pot, the other 5 goes to the main pot. Weekly winners get 200 bucks cash and seat at the final table, which is a winner take all 500 dollar prize. If you place second at the weekly table, you recieve 50.
Equipment includes an oval hand built table, with padded rails, a built in "race track", cup holders, and black velvatine center area.
Play style is fairly advanced, with a good mix of conservative and aggressive players.

I do one on Fri nights with me and my friends. No limit, re-buy however many times you want. .25, .50, 1.00 chips. Its just for being social and getting drunk while trying to make a buck or two.

my friend runs high stakes poker games, i dont know shit about poker, but i believe its 30-60. a couple millionaires play at his games, as well a local radio DJ. he takes nothing for the house, only tips. stocks the fridge with what ever you want, want a certain cigar/cigarette? it will be there for you. food/drinks/everything is free, he normally orders food. he just got back from dealing the world series of poker and is going back to vegas as soon as he teaches another poker school. so get in soon before the games stop.

We just get together a few times a week and have usually single table tournaments, no re-buys. $10 buy-in, 15 min blinds. 2nd gets there money back and winner takes the rest usually. Just some mellow poker. I took 2 out of the 3 last night. We also do 30+ multi table tournaments every month or so. $30 buy-in and that pays for all you can drink/eat. Top 4 get paid, I think it starts a few hundred.

eh, me and my dad, bro, and dads g/f get a few people over on saturday nights, bout 10-15 people.
if we have 10 or less, we allow 1 buy back. 11 or more, no buy backs.
$10 buy in, blinds start at 10/25 and then go up per rotation to 25/50-50/100-100/200-200/400(<-MAX) , 700 units to start, 1st gets pot, 2nd gets buy in back.
if you do end up getting a seat open john, id be interested in playing a 10 weeker with you guys.
