i'm getting my lazy ass back in school in the spring, finally. coming back with 19-25 hours of credit, not sure if some of it will transfer... what i need to know is how different the learning environments are between the 2 schools? how's the faculty at each school? i'm really interested in completing my associates at hcc just because i keep hearing it's much cheaper, and i definitely need to conserve as much money as possible.

HCC is like 13th and 14th grade.

USF is like college.

If money is an issue, knock out your AA and get a bunch of A's at HCC, then apply for scholarships/grants through whatever college you enter at USF.

HCC does a good job of transitioning into the neverending beurocracy of a state school. HCC is at least manageable whereas USF is not  . HCC also has much smaller classes and much cheaper classes.

I am a student at USF and I can say that USF is 1000000 times better than HCC for learning and facilities but HCC is alot cheaper, easier, and less stressfull. It really is like 13th grade at HCC but its alot easier than USF. I think Florida has a deal going around that states if you get your AA degree at a public community college you can attend any public florida institution of your choice. I say go with USF if you want high quality education and HCC if you want to transfer later...

Everyone I have talked to has said that the Ybor Campus is the best, that the teachers are more relaxed and what not. That's where I go, although I haven't taken any classes at the other campuses. My girlfriend goes to USF and she is always bitching about the work she has to do, where I take more credit hours (15) and it's like a stroll in the park. But maybe I'm just smarter?

HCC is alot cheaper, Classes are smaller(so the teachers actually know you by name, and you can work with them one on one if you need help), classes are alot easier (from what i've heard and compared with my friends at USF), if you get your A.A degree at HCC your acepted into all 11 State Universities here in florida(although you still have to apply for you major, you are still accepted at the institution), and you are able to manage classes and times, and most teachers are pretty effective on Dale Mabry campus.

USF is still a good choice....but (my opinion) i would prefer
to save money on a stroll in the park and having a choice of 11 other institutions to choose from afterwards, plus the scholarships that come after your easy classes are like 75% to 100%.

hope this helps any.... :dunno:
