Do u have to be like dressed up big time like slacks and dress shirts to get into the clubs in ybor or can u just go with jeans and a dress shirt ? Just wondering if its more like the clubs in NY and stuff.

I usually wear a buttoned up top and black pants, and some nice shoes. :-D

I normally wear black slacks and a collared shirt. I'm normally there with the DJ, too.

I also wear pressed slacks with a button-down collared shirt.

Don't wear shorts, sneakers, hats, jerseys, etc.

What days do you guys go there? I usually go on Thurs. and you will look wayyy outta place that dressed up. Jeans, polo, boots are good for any club in Ybor I can think of.

Thursdays at Amp is full of Jitterbugs. Wanna be white thugs who can't dance.

Dress code: Just about anything goes at Amp except No hats (dunno why) Dress how you feel. Clubs in Ybor have gotten nothing buy worse.. :(

Ybor is the shitstain of Tampa now. It's even starting to get bad on Sats. Hyde Park or Channelside for me please.

I remember when AMP first opened up.. Now that was the best time to go there, all the club kids (myself included) left The Rubb and started going there b/c it was new, they had an awesome sound system and light show, DJ Gemini was pretty much getting a name for himself as the resident DJ there..They had leather couches all over the first floor, getting upstairs went along with your price of $7.00. On any given friday and saturday night it was the place to be..

That was years ago, the place has turned into a money market now. I wouldnt be suprised if they started charging everyone $1.00 to use the restrooms to take a piss. But i agree, ybor is now the shitstain of tampa and the AMP is a pretty decent place to go to hear breakbeat style of music (which i miss)
