You love it more when you flop quads and someone else makes a boat, they love giving you all their money in that situation.

you played that pretty much perfect, when you flop quads its hard to get chips unless someone made a boat or outside flush/straight draw.

Thanks, I was hoping that ace on the river would help someone, thats why I bet a decent amount.

think you could have squeeze a tad more out of them earlier in the hand, but other than that...cant beat a winning hand lol

Nah I know they had nothing, thats why they were betting small. If I would have raised they would have folded, I had good reads on them.

I played the hand perfectly.

I played the hand perfectly.

i disagree, you shouldnt have just called, you should have raised preflop

In EP with a low PP?

No.

why let the bb play for free? with cox just calling, the bb gets a chance of making a better hand after the flop. if cox would have raised then the blind would have folded and cox doesnt have to chance getting beat after the flop. i dont like the idea of letting the blinds play for free.

His ONLY reason for playing that hand is to hit a set, 55 is useless.

That being said, he's going to want to get a look at the flop as cheaply as possible, and raising in early position isn't going to do that, he's potentially paying more for the hand than he has to, not to mention setting someone (with a GOOD hand) up for a re-raise. The chances of him flopping the set are 1 in 8, so if he raises with that hand in EP all 8 times, he's going to end up throwing away money 7 of those times when he didn't have to.

What if the bb had raised 3 or 4 times the bb? then what would cox do? probably fold and then he is out those chips he put in. by him raising, some of the others would have folded and he has a better chancing of winning the pot. oh and a low pp isnt always useless, ive seen plenty of people win with low pocket pairs.

you have your opinion and i have mine.

VQ35DE, I also disagree.

I do not raise early in the tourny with a nice stack with low pp's. Maybe later on in the tourny but not this early. If anyone would have raised I would have laid that hand down. I always limp low/mid pp's early on and pray for the set on the flop.

You're right you do have your opinion and I also have mine. I liked my play and I got paid decent for it.

If I would have raised 3xbb and had 2 callers and missed my flop, what a waste of chips all because of a low PP. No thanks, I will stick to my play, it does me well. :D

This was my quad flop hand. A lot of acting went into this one, i let the time run down after most of the guy's bets.

I didnt let the time run out on mine but I did wait awhile before I called the bets. If you immediatly call thats going to give it away. God I love when people hit boats, I wish someone would have on mine. Nicely played Colby. :D
