How do you think they will do now that hockey has finally gotten back to being a sport rather than a debate over money...khabibulin is no longer goaltending for them. So how do you think they will do?

Hopefully they will do good this season but we'll have to wait and see. I think we still have a strong team so...

very strong team, sucks to lose habby but with the huge changes in structure to the game, we did very well to not lose anymore than just him. The core is in tact and I believe we have one of the stronger teams in the league. Playoffs for sure

I think they will do ok maybe not another stanley cup but should make it to the playoffs. I hope Pittsburgh has a good season the salary cap is helping them out alot of good pickups now they just need a new arena.

well there is no more two line passing...thank god that rule is terrible and slows the game down a lot...and i like the idea of a shoot out when the game ends in a tie....i think the rule changes will have some positive effects on this season...

thing i think thats funny is the players went on strike demanding more money and ended up receiving a pay cut more than anything.

cant wait till the season starts and see how some of the new players do during pre-season.

btw...since habby is gone..i wasnt sure but who do we have in net?

just so you know, it wasnt a strike, it was a lock out by the owners. They were demanding a salary cap, the players did not want one or feel there was a need.

Yes there is a huge difference between hockey players and other leagues. Hockey players want to play because thats what they love to do and while lets say NFL players, they love to play but they also want the HUGE pay checks. :thumbdwn:

however, contracts are much easier terminated in the NFL than any other league. In fact, the NFL probably has the best league rules on contracts and financial structure in general, over any other sport.

The NHL has continually mismanaged itself into 5th place among sports in the US.

i think the bolts will be solid this year. im pretty sure we'll either have grahammy or the new old guy sean burke in net. we're still a young and talented team and its definetly a playoff year, if not another cup winner. i think pittsburgh is gonna be the monkey wrench this year because they have all of the pieces to go from worst to first. time will tell.
