Derby lane has just started doing STT BTW!!!!

anywho, this weekend, i tried my luck at live action tables. i am much more comfortable and think even if i do lose my money i get my moneys worth for my time invested. probably due to the fact between sunday and monday i made over 550 dollars, when i walked into derby lane with 25$ sunday evening. granted the cards were fallin nicely, but even some hands it was a nail biter. i went back today with 20 bucks, was up 45 at about 1 oclock, then got greedy, and i just got back home...but shit, 20 bucks spent in 3 hours...not too bad compared to other stuff i could be doing, and better then 45 to get into a tourney i will have a harder time making money in.

but i would like to hear others opinions on preferences...i dont think i will play many tourney's anymore, i think live action is where the more guaranteed winnings is.

guess its preference, and having a feel for the table. but yes, i prefer it. might get called out and lose on the river, but if your playing with some sort of sense, you can figure it out and adjust. i didnt lose more than 6 dollars at a given hand. i also didnt have jack asses going all in.

Limit poker is all about luck, it's so hard to bluff people out of hands when you're betting $2.

I will always be a MTT/SnG poker player. There is more money to be made in MTTs and SnGs if you're a winning poker player.

Ring is fun sometimes as long as it's NL and not that gay limit shit.

well, playing smartly the last 2 days paid off...rarely did i play anything less than 19 (unless it was suited possibly) and it isnt so much about luck. its knowing when to raise and when to fold.

IMO limit poker is all about how the cards fall unless you are playing higher limits of limit poker. ANYONE will chase to the river with a $2 bet.

And you didnt play anything less than 19? What is this blackjack? :wtf:

limit is about discipline, not luck. If you're not prepared to sit and grind it out while only playing the top ten hands, i wouldnt bother playing it. However, if you do have patience, it can be QUITE profitable, but you have to know how to throw your hand away and how to read your opponent.

what john said... sunday and monday combined, i probably played 15 hours, and i do not expect to go back and do it again, but it is definately a sit and wait game...monday i waited 5 full rotations before i got in a hand. at that point it becomes more of a job, than fun.

and by 19, i mean a face car and a 9...something i could string together if need be. one hand i did play i had pocket 3's...decided to call and table got maxed at $8/player, everyone just kept raising and everyone called...figure they all had something decent, and no little cards...i was right, 3 on the flop, 3 on the river :)
