I'm not a cheater, just a big time procrastinator. I hate school, too, though. And it's going by so sssssssllllllllloooooowwwww. Well, sometimes I do like school..... Okay, I'm fickle. I don't know if I'll love school tomorrow or hate it.

HCC is 13th grade. Meaning you have to do classwork and homework. In a "real university" LOL you dont have homework and are only graded on exams. All you have to do is read, pay attention in class and take notes now and then.

Hmmmm, i went to a real university, and I still had "homework". Obviously you've never been to a "real university", or you're just lying to yourself and like telling yourself where you went was a real school. :jerkoff:

I go to HCC and I haven't had much homework. It just depends on the professors you have. Which is just like how a "real university" goes, as well. Kthnxbye.

School sucks, I almost quit. Then I realized that was stupid. Now I'm applying myself fully... oh wait, I'm in class right now and I'm not paying any attention to the prof. Oh well.

You might not have much homework in your first couple years, but I found that as soon as I got to my senior year, the homework was way more intense. And I like it because I learned more with classes that had more homework. And yes, that is at USF.
College just isn't for everyone. I figure if you don't really want to be there, don't. It's not like you'll actually learn anything if you just cheat your way through...and what's the point if you don't actually learn?

I don't really want to be there- in fact, I really don't want to be there but I have no other options. I don't cheat, I just skate by with as little effort as possible. The point of going is to get that stupid piece of paper that gets you in the door to interview for jobs you wouldn't be considered for otherwise.

Well start applying yourself. Getting a job is only 25% of the problem, its even harder keeping one. If your not an asset an employer will cut your ass because there are hundreds of other graduates thatll do your job better. The market is REALLY competetive so start learning now.
You dont NEED a degree, it just really helps. If you dont plan on being self employed in the next 5-10 years then what else are you going to do?

I have no clue where I'm going in life. I realized this early this year as the end of my second year of college drew closer. When I started my freshman year I thought I might know what I wanted to do, but I took a few classes in that subject and quickly found that I was wrong. I thought I'd find something else to interest me in the next two years of school, but that brings us back to the first sentence in this paragraph.
I spent the first six months of this year struggling to find a path, a career I'd be happy in, hell, any career at all that I thought I would be at least somewhat successful in even if I would be unhappy. At the end of the process I had considered a number of different paths but the more I looked into each one the more I hated it. I had a long list of careers I had absolutely no interest in and a longer list of careers I would hate, and nothing I thought I would like to do- so I said "screw it, I'm just getting a degree and whatever will be, will be. I'll find something sooner or later."
I was a poli sci major, something I'd picked to work towards my original (quickly abandoned) goal- had only a single pre-req class but I would have had to have taken two higher-level math classes to switch to other majors I was interested in. I opted for the path of least resistance. This brings us up to the present and explains my complete lack of interest in what I'm studying. :)
It should be interesting, seeing how my professional life pans out. In the part-time jobs I've had I've shown strong dedication to working hard and doing my best. It's surprising considering my apathy and poor performance in school, but it seems like a small paycheck now is a far greater motivation than the promise of large paychecks in the future. I think the real reason behind it is that I have no issues with learning a job and doing it- I can shut my brain down for 8 hours at a time in return for money in my pocket. The learning process in school is entirely different- forcing me to think creatively and actively engage my brain to learn things that bore me to the point of falling asleep in the middle of reading a textbook or sitting in class. If I can get a decent job with decent pay in which I can learn a certain skill set and then apply those same skills day in and day out, I think I'll do just fine. I just have to get past college first.

Dont get discouraged from intro courses. Those are used to weed out people and to generally give people a hard time. Thats why upper level courses are so small. What was your intended major? Its best to get a realistic idea on what you want to do in the future by sophmore year so you dont have to stay in school for another 1-2 years getting your bachelors. Id do business administration if I were you b/c it is so general and can be branched off to computer business, international etc.
Or you can just get a Liberal Arts... All up to you man. What interests you anyhow? Are you a math, literature, science or history guy?

I'm definitely not a math guy- I have no mathematical aptitude. I have a keen interest in science but I can't take any of the sciences that really interest me very far without math. I always excelled in writing and literature classes in high school and I did consistent 750's-800's on the verbal PSATs and SAT, but there's no way in hell I'm getting an English degree. I've considered becoming a history major, but I don't consider it to be much better than my current poli sci major. I'm very strongly considering getting a business degree after I have my poli sci degree in the bag. Right now I just want to take the most direct route to getting a degree, which is the path I'm taking currently.
