View Full Version : What do you do preworkout?

For me, everything I do preworkout is the most important part of the work out. This determines how good my workout will be and how long I will last. For me I...
First pop 2 aspirins. Then eat something with protein and carbs in it. Usually 4 slices of peanut butter and jelly will do the trick. Right after I do that I take ready4war (BTW is fucking awsome stuff. NO XPLODE and Super Pump have nothing on this stuff. Awsome awsome stuff from a great company) About 15-20 mins later I am ready to work out. Usually this combo yeilds great work outs for me.
I am also curious about how many people on here actually take pre workout drinks? (IE ready4war, no xplode) Without this stuff, I wouldnt work out...I dunno how people do it naturally!

I do not take any pre workout supplements, I just eat a PB&J sammich about 30-45 min before.
The only supps I take are whey and flax oil.

I put my MP3 player on my head.
When i get to the store to buy creatine, i'll be taking that about 30 minutes pre-w/o.

I heard the new formula of Ready4War is supposed to be the shit..
I do NOS Ether and Creatine on an empty stomach 30 mins before workout.
Pre workout meal w/ protein is about 2-2.5 hours before that.

Im up at ~6:20 AM, take White Blood, do my morning stuff (brush teefs, etc..), and go to the gym. I was taking NO Xplode... worked good. Then tried Superdump 250, worked great, but has explosive runs, then I tried to switch back to NO Xplode and still had the problem. I took over a month off the pre workout supps. and I took NO Xplode on Monday and it went from NO Xplode to Xplode (same problems again :( ) The Superpump must have screwed up something so I cant take those type of stimulants :(

Country Boy, try ready4war. I went off of superpump because my body got used to it and ready4war is the shit. Also, you got off the MRI NO2 and started on White Blood i see. I didnt like NO2 and just went back to Nitrix and I like it a lot better. I didnt really feel results on NO2.
Shizzle, isnt NOS Ether NO2 with CEE? NOS Ether has a lot of good reviews, ess. for people who arent CM or CEE responders. Not sure how that works. Also, how do I know if I got the new formula?? I got a new bottle in today but it looks the same as the one I got a few months ago
Vito, you should email BSN, Gaspari, or Get Diesel and have them send you a sample of their prework out supplements one day. I promise you your workout will be 10x's better. Gaspari actually sent me a sample first of their super pump and used that til my body got used to it. I cannot train without some kind of prework out stuff.

Just so you know, odds are the bread you're eating is just as bad as white bread. It's probably got HFCS in it, which makes it like drinking a Coke. Find bread that's ingredients say "100% Whole Wheat". It's very difficult to find, but that's the only non 'dirty carbs' bread.

Don't knock it until you've tried it.
Also, the stuff we're mentioning really has no effect on your wanting to go to the gym (except ready 4 war).
Most of the stuff being mentioned assists during the workout to provide pumps, increase indurance, muscle recovery.

The new formula has just been sent to testers, so you may have the old one. Its still badass, but the new one is supposed to be even better for the same price.
NOS has Kre-Alkalyn Creatine in there. I was stacking it with Omega CEE because it has Gycerol Monostearate in there. I have since switched back to CM...i respond to that just fine.
There are some studies that say most of the 'non responders' out there were not simply taking enough CM or there was a problem in the uptake to get it in your system.

The ONLY negative it has is it tastes like SHIT. I mix it with orange gatorate in a small coffee mug (you only need 1/2 to 1 scoop of this stuff) and in 15 mins you will want to lift weights. I LOVE this stuff. Without it giving me the extra kick in the ass, id b to lazy to work out

Looks like crap to me. Look at the supplement facts of what it contains, a few of your basic vitamins and a few powders which you can purchase anywhere. They charge $32.95 for only 330 grams/ 20-40 servings and also charge an awesone flat rate shipping fee of $7.50 with it from what ive seen it advertised for on the web.

330 grams yields 20 servings...its 29.95 on BB.com and priority shipping is 3.99
Its actually pretty good stuff - if you need a preworkout 'boost'
Personally, swear by NOS ether...but its a totally different product.

This is why your getting energy....

not to flame here, but if you need a suppliment to prep you to workout and help stay focused then there is something wrong.. me personally ive never needed any pre workout jolt to get me going for the workout ahead. other than the occasional creatine dose at 10-20mg or vitamins such as l-arginine or b12.
if you want to get scientific, your body will produce 15% more natural HGH in the first 15-20 minutes of exercise. now you add in 'xyz product' pre workout boost then all your going to get is the benefit of a great 15-20 min jolt that will potentially leave you hanging the last 20-30 minutes of your workout.
imho a 10 minute walk on the treadmil or a few minutes on the bike, followed by a nice 5-10 min warm up with lite weights to get your body ready for your workout..

hmmm, not sure if you are being sarcastic here with drinking a coke after your workout but honestly refined sugar after a workout is the worst thing you can do for your body post workout. simple sugars are released into the bloodstream immediately, causing a rapid increase in blood-sugar level and an insulin surge. simple sugars are released faster into the body, insulin causes the excess to be converted into fat..
if you are looking for pure glycogen replention you should consider the following post workout, to give you the perfect combo of protein/carbs/sugar
2 scoops whey protein
2 scoops maltodextrin
1 tablespoon dextrose

http://www.weightsnet.com/weights/issue/1575 - best i could find.
QUESTION: HI everyone. Ok, you are suppose to raise your blood sugar after workout to
maximize glycogen restoration. To me, I think that just drinking a regular
soda after you work out would have the same effect as the popular sports
drinks but would cost much less. I looked one of the popular sports drinks
label and found out the main ingrediant was High Fructose Corn Syrup, the
same ingrediant in Soda. It would seem to me that Soda would have the same
effect as the sports drinks. What do you all think?
ANSWER: There is a problem with drinking a beverage containing high-fructose corn
syrup. After a workout, it is desirable to consume high-glycemic
carbohydrates to produce a large insulin response in the blood stream.
Fructose is actually extremely low on the glycemic index, so you will not
get the desired insulin response. It is also desirable to consume a
combination of protein and carbohydrates after a workout; a soda contains
no protein at all.
EDIT: also found out from afew sources it does raise ur insulin spike with protein. But nothing on repairing torn muscle fibers.

Nothing normally.. just a bottle of water, and maybe a pb&j.
But today i had a whole publix turkey sub and some pink lemonade, then worked out like 30 mins later. (Yea, probably not a good thing to do)
