i notice a lot of you are interested in these sorts of things, so am I. I participated in Tae Kwon Doe and Ju Jitsu as a kid, and learned some kickboxing in Highschool. I wanted to get back into it but do not know of any good places in my area. I really want to stay away from karate, tae kwon do, ju jitsu. I'm much more interested in Boxing and Kickboxing or military combat fighting (i have only heard of one class for this and it is in sarasota).
So if you guys know of any reputable places around Hernando County, prefarably 20 minutes or less away I'd appreciate it.

A huuuuuge part of MMA is Brazilian Ju Jitsu... so if you want to stay away from it, toss MMA off the list.
And i know of nothing in that county lol, so that's all i have to offer.

Yea, actually I should take that back. I want something more competitive, everytime I tried a karate or tae kwon do or ju jitsu thing it seemed like all we did was jumping jacks and learned to kick. once i signed up for kickboxing we went to all kinds of meets, and we sparred almost every single time we met up. im looking for something like that. learning some nice grapples and holds and submissions would be fun as well.

There ya go, lol. Yea, TKD and the like isn't the most competetive stuff, per se. I mean there are tons of tournaments and stuff, but as far as a DEFENSIVE art, it's not completely there.
Talk to nouseforaname on here, he might know of some places for you.

The guys that teach the BJJ and Muay Thai classes near us also teach them in Brooksville. Not sure where that is in relation to Hernando :tard: but it might help.

There is plenty of competition to be had with BJJ..from local tournaments to bigger events by national sacntioning bodies.
As far as where to go in Hernando, I have no idea...
