Recently, it has come to my attention that some of my friends do not. They tell you how much they enjoy hanging out with you, how you can count on them, etc etc.

Then, they meet that significant other. *Poof* They are gone.

We'll call these people A.F.C.'s (another fucking chump). You know, the person that crawls up their new partner's ass and ditches all their friends?

I admit, I used to be an AFC. I would spend every waking moment with my newest love interest, only to have it crash and burn. I realized after a few times of this that I had fewer and fewer friends each time, and grew tired of resurrecting old friendships. Now I put away time for my friends who have always been there for me.

So, are you an AFC (perhaps, to this moment, even unwittingly)?

Na I've only been in a couple relationships but I'm a pretty independent person. I can't stand it when my friends do that to me, so I try not to ever do it to them. I always let them know if they need anything at all to call me up, we can talk, go have lunch or just have a girls night. One of my single, good friends(that i've known since i was 8) I try to make time for b/c she's always been someone i can count on. We go out and ride(horses) on regular basis among other things ...

Again, i don't people doing that to me so I try not to be that person either. Besides, mike isn't going anywhere, why do i need to be stuck up his ass? :lol:

It's funny though b/c most of my/our good friends are married or close to being married so we all end up hanging out together anyway :) if we don't normally it's me and a couple girls and then the guys are hanging out together.

I think i am one of them "AFC" people, but i never been in a serious relationship before, so im not 100% sure of it. I totally agree that friendship is one of the best relationship that anyone can have. One perk of having a long distance relationship (orlando & tampa) is that we can hang out with whoever we want during the week, and then hang out together on the weekends.. which is usually with mutual friends anyways. Having your own free time to do what you want with your own friends is very important.

I have a friend like this. :( aparently he's now marrying this chick. And becomming a dad with her little girl from another relationship. Although it may be sweet, and all that shit. It depends on the person. If you actually find someone who's your soul mate (for those that don't believe in such a thing, you get the idea), you can spend every day in each others' faces and love it. Was there for 2 years, and we didn't break up for need of personal time/space.

During that time, I was AFC. I learned my lesson when it was done to me a few years later.
