Do you guys know of any good Greek and/or Mediterranean restaurants in the tampa bay area? I've been to the Louis Pappas by my place in New Tampa, but I think I've eaten everything on the menu and want to try something new. Any suggestions on where to go and what to order? :)

Friends of ours own that place. Byblos Cafe is really good and I recommend it. It's Lebanese food. :)

We used to eat from there a lot at work. They're ok. Mama's Greek Cuisine is really good too.

I know what you mean. My grandmother has passed, but my aunts, etc all make amazing Lebanese food. My mom (even though she's American) and sister do as well (they are going to teach me). :-D

Other good ones not exactly in Tampa are Cedars in Orlando and Mezza in Clearwater off of Ulmerton.

Also, you can just go to Oasis bakery (off of Bearss in Skipper Plaza) and buy food from there. They have fresh pita bread, hummus, labneh, tabouli, etc.

Oasis is goodd but Busch blvd seems to have them EVERYWHERE.

BTW the spinach & feta cheese pie rock. Meat pies are excellent too. Its not huge but it is family owned and operated and the bread is baked fresh everyday and most of the arabic resteraunts in tampa use there bread.

And I forgot ALL about Mezza. The kafta kabob is great. Theyve got a beef dish that uses sirloin slices, forgot the name but thats good too.

Ok, now you guys are making me crave domadillas (?) stuffed grape leaves. Yummy. I actually went to a really good Greek restaurant in Orlando named Cyprian....or Cypress something. It was near the UCF area. Mmm

The Mediterranean Grill on 56th seems to be good, but I haven't really compared it to others. It's just a light south of Fowler on the left in a plaza when heading towards Fowler.

It's the place of choice for Mediterranean food when we take one of our two hour lunches (As usual. Thank god the boss doesn't care)
