I REALLY miss having TCWO around. It was such a friggin' awesome store and those morons ran it into the ground... It was so nice to be able to go there after work and get computer parts at mail-order prices... It was like having NewEgg right around the corner!
Anyway...
Is there anyplace that can even hold a candle to TCWO in Tampa?
And if you say CompUSA I'm going to punch you.

TCWO was awesome, nothing like walking in ordering and having it then and now. Prices were half decent also.
I dont think there is anyother store in the area that can compete.

You must have a wholesale account to deal with them, but I think DriftingDJ has one and I do as well, just as big as TCWO, but a lil more professional, and sturdy if you will... Prices are just as good if not better than tcwo...

TCWO closed down due to the hurricanes last year. Apparently they got robbed of everything during the storms, and had to close down.

From what I understand the story they told the public and the REAL story were two different things. And I think they've been closed for 2 years now, so it didn't have anything to do with last year's hurricanes...
I heard they sunk a TON of money into the new building they moved into, and on that electronics outlet they opened next door, and they never could recoup the costs. They just went under. And the theft story was just to save them some face.
I'll check out ASI. Thanks!

+1 TCWO sucked compared to ASI which is where they got their parts. ASI just requires that you have a reseller's license which is $25 and a company name or federal tax id. ASI is the best parts wharehjouse in florida the prices they give me are a lot cheaper than new egg and I can pick everything up the same day most of the time.

you get a resellers license in the state of florida at a local court house for $25 and a federal tax id.

Yeah they are awesome, I have never had to wait for parts and like he said, better than newegg. They are always willing to help me out with bulk order prices. I am however closing up shop, and will do most of my present customer support from home, as im not seeing much profit and my overhead vs prospective business in this area is a little over what I can handle.
If you want to open a pc shop the best thing you can do is find a good location and offer the very best customer satisfaction possible, so many people are sick and tired of these pc shops where they wait 7 days for their pc to be "fixed"... I love doing this stuff, but its not very profitable in my area, and with my limited resources (money)... My partner is however selling custom builts on ebay and making a bit of profit, all of our systems were built from ASI's help, and I would recommend them to anyone.

you have to have an account to get prices and prices are different according to account activity. its worth it for example the cheapest motherboard and processor combo is $82.50 AMD XP 2600 on a K7 motherboard fsb333 with lan/video/sound on board. Another poular combo I get is AMD 64 athylon 1.8 with ASUS board lan/video/sound serial ports $237 no tax available for pick up same day on I would say about 90% of everthing they have on the site. shipping adds up from new egg and taxes.
