those birds require 2-3 hours of real attention a day -minimum-.

Does he bite? Does he scream? Is he cagebound?

Please find a good home for it. Leaving it alone all day is cruel.

I know he requires that much attention Ie why I wanna try and give him a good home....

He doesn't bite, hes actually very loving, he used to when we first got him, but hes pretty calm now...He had a tendancy to scream, and thats cause hes stuck in a cage all day...when hes outta the cage he doesn't scream at all, hes just board and lonely in his cage....we built him some outside thing, and he loves it, just no one puts him out there anymore...he has his wings clipped so he won't fly away, hes good with other animals doesn't bite or chase them, and we have 4 cats, and 2 dogs...

this was just a my Dad wanted one so he bought it,

and now he never acknowledges him

Those are AWESOME birds. I had one. They rock. But if you can't honestly give that bird HOURS of attention it will scream and hate you. These are one of the most loveable breeds of birds. They will hang onto you. Let you hug, pet, scratch them etc. But you MUST spend alot of time with them everyday. They are not like the big amazon parrots that can be alone all day everyday.

^^yep.

If you don't have time for this bird, dont buy it. These birds are smart enough to actually feel depressed when owners are gone. They are also smart enough that being left isolated all of the time can actually make them go insane, which is a sad sight to see. They can frequently live longer than us, and many times, when an owner dies, or the bird is removed because an elderly owner cant take care of it, the bird will also die shorty after.

I wish more people would do some research before buying an exotic pet, especially a bird. Years ago, I was guilty of this too and still feel bad about it.

Agreed.
No offense to you or your father but he needs to suck up his losses and sell the bird into a proper environment.

^^ Wanted to clarify. That was not meant to sabotage the OPs sale. It's just that very few people actually DO spend an appropriate amount of time with these birds. I'm sure it's a fine bird, and the price is actually fair - so if you want a LIFELONG (bird can outlive you!) friend, have at it!
