View Full Version : Something to ponder...
I have thought the same thing as this guy for awhile, it's just nice to see someone else out there that sees what I think I see...

Intresting read, something to think about...
As I have said before, things are going to look "good" for the next 4yrs or so... then we have to "settle out" and I had already planned on preparing for a "settling" at that time... it's just odd to see someone else writing a book on it...
hmmmmm,,,,

just look at our gdp (gross domestic product) over the last 100 years and you'll see just how cyclical our economy is. Now compare certain years to recessions and booms and you'll notice we almost always had recessions/depressions before war, and pulled ourselves out (booms) after war. Most booms lasted 6-10 years before leveling offing. Consider the last recession we had......just after 9/11. Prior to 9/11 we REALLY had a VERY HOT Economy. We are just now getting back to pre- 9/11 unemployment numbers, pre- 9/11 Dow Jones Avg. Growth Numbers, and many other Economic Growth Numbers. From the way the economic indicators are pointing, we've been near the beggining of the next Economic Boom. The Dow Jones recently hit 11k, and our unemployment numbers hit pre- 9/11 numbers just a few months ago. With as high as disposable income is because of the low unemployment, our housing market will remain strong, even if interest rates do peak at 7% this year. Hell, just look at historical rates and you'll see 10%+ isn't that high (historically speaking). Our economy has a lot of growth to look forward to over the next 5-10 years.

Agreed. We are not due for any "depression" for awhile...
Just that we are cylical, thus one will come... ;)
Just something for those that forget history... :P
