View Full Version : Suggestions For Mindless Meal Replacements

Between my work schedule, work-out schedule, drive times, and miscellaneous tasks when I get home (usually around 8-8:30) there is no way I can keep up with more then five meals a day, and on top of that I would need at least two of them to be mindless type meals that only require me to pack and go.
So I need some good suggestions for meal replacements for the high speed/low drag lifestyle I live throughout the work week. I try to eat three regular meals a day, and get a good size protein shake in after every workout. I say try to eat three meals a day because sometimes given the unpredictable nature of Tampa traffic I end up late for work and already behind the gun to get things done which leaves my trip to the cafeteria downstairs out.
My goal is to cut up. I've gone from 278 to 195 over the past six months. I have put on what I think is a decent amount of muscle, but as Ravenman stated in a previous thread I started my muscles are probably more apparent because of my weight loss. I want to hit 175-180 so I don't have that far to go from were I've been. I prefer high protein/low carb/low fat meal replacements because I usually accommodate my carb intake with my solid meals. I feel I have better control that way.

Muscle Milk shakes
RTD Shakes
Isopure protein drinks
Myoplex Lite shakes
you can keep these with you then when you want to drink them just grab a glass with ice cubes in it, pour and let chill..

What are your personal experiences with Muscle Milk? That product looks good, but does it meet the claims that are made about it?

Muscle Milk is amazing.
I also like the Labrada, they make a low-carb version.
Are you only looking for liquid MRP shakes?

Anything really. Some solid food suggestions would be good as well. I've read though that from lab testing some of the bars don't actually meet the nutrional facts on their labels.

not only that but protein bars contain hydrogenated oils = bad for you cardiovascular system. They really are no better than candy bars except they have four times the protein amount.
Look at the side of a protein bar, besides protein there are no major nutrients other than iron and maybe niacin.

Forget protein bars, they are jokes. If you wanna go that route, just eat a milky way and take a shot of straight whey powder.
They make lots of food in packets and cans, I got a stash at work myself for when I cant get out. Just watch for sodium content and make sure its real and not processed. They make 98% fat free chicken breast in the can and pouch (watch for sodium; and read ingredients, no rib meat), they got tuna, shrimp (just watch cholesterol).
Carb Solutions makes a nice shake in the can ready to drink thats low in fat, too. I got more ideas but Im drawing a blank right now.

I buy sugar free low fat pudding, and add 3 scoops of pure whey to it, mix it with fat free milk, and chill it.. good and tasty and i can take em anywhere in a little ziplock 1/2 cup container.

eh 3 scoops is alittle hard on your kidneys. Im taking two scoops (50grams) twice a day in adition to all my chicken (2-3 pounds) and my kidneys are a bit sore (im drinking 1.5 gallons a day, started my cutting phase monday).
I like that idea however, im going to try it. Low sugar + cutting phase = bad fucking ass.

For this I use pharma pro whey protein, and it's like 22 gr a scoop. So you're looking at 66 gr divided into 6 servings, so it isnt as bad as it sounds. I have yet to experience any cramping or pain, and my family has a history of kidney problems. I will admit I havent tried it with myoplex or isopure yet, so i'm sure that the protein per serving will bounce around.
