i was there from about 4-10:30 tonight playing cs:s, bf2, etc.
really cool place. i'm impressed with the cybercafe/igames software that runs everything.. was really smooth and didnt feel cluttered at all like most POS/front ends
anyway, i don't have a decent computer to game on so i bought a membership there. it's going to take a while for me to get my new system together
all the games played great im not sure what video cards they use i think the website says.. about 20-25 computers.. my pings were usually 30-50
they also have great hours. i figured theyd have regular business hours which would be completely pointless for gaming, but its like 2-11 or 2-2am usually
i'm posting this cause i'd like to get more people into it i've never found any lan centers to be very impressive but this one seems like it has awesome potential
if anyone wants to go up there with me sometime youre more than welcome, its down sheldon between waters and hillsborough. i miss lanparties and this is quasi lanpartyish when theres no events
and hell, now even if you have a nice system at home, when theres a lan event you dont have to carry it anywhere. the systems they're using were perfect. i think their events award money too.
only thing i wasnt big on was the keyboard/mouse their systems have.. the computers were killer, not choppy in anything super smooth, but regular optical 2 button mouse and a mini laptop keyboard that had some configuration where the keys are all as close as possible to one another. just like a laptop, theres no spaces between the numbers and f1's.. etc
