Rat Terrier pup

I just picked up this little cutie last Saturday from FBP here on the forums. I get her home and my other dog has not let up on her since. My older dog has become overly possessive and aggressive. Im afraid something bad is going to happen so I need to get the puppy to a good home quickly :( I paid 400 for her, but I will deliver her for 300 in the Tampa area...I hate to let the little cutie go, but I need to. She will also come with a 4 lbs bag of puppy chow.

at that age you should crate her when your not around, your other dog will come around you just have to be real attentive to the older dog. they need to know they are the top dog so to speak, and the puppy will adjust to the enviroment.

also if your other dog is being aggresive try isolating him/her. as soon as they get nasty scold lightly nothing too serious and stick him/her in a room by their selves like the bathroom. dogs want to be by you and they will quickly learn what makes you isolate them. only leave them in the room for like 2-5 minutes or they will forget what they did. you will need to repeat several times but this does work, you can even train them to reconize the word "time out". make sure you give them attention when they are being good as this is an even more efective way to get them trained, the old 'you get more bees with honey' theory.

I do keep her crated, thats another reason I need to get her into a good home. I work so much she spends most of the time in there :( Your advice is 100% dead on

bummer, i hope it works out for the pup. i had a rat terrier, great dog a little hyper but she was only like 20lbs so it wasn't a big deal.

can FBP find her a home? i know he cares about these little pups too. maybe shoot him a pm and see. worth a shot. g/l

Shes at a good home...the other dog didnt eat her :lol:

FBP - There was major issues with my other doggie and her, so I had to get her out of there. Luckly someone came and got her that seemed like they would take care of her.
