What Turfgrass is the best, OR what would you get??

My gf and I are sick of trying to keep up w/ the bahiagrass...its bullshit and theres no other way than to START OVER!

Shes now deciding on a species that's best. Our choices are mainly St. Augustine and Zoysiagrass. Everyone is familiar with St. Augustine and its pretty cliche, so I wont go much into it, but Zoysiagrass is becoming more and more popular. It is more tolerant to herbacides that attack weeds (which is a +) And all the things i hear about it are good (Except the fact that it needs to be cut short, which isnt such a big deal) And the fact that is super soft is niiiice :)

From that link you posted...seems like it has a pretty high maintenance. Idk much about grass though.

what's wrong with bahia? It is native to FL and damn near impossible to kill. What is wrong with your grass that you think you have to start over?

her lawn is pretty sandy, and weeds overpower the bahia like crazy. That grass also doesnt grow very thick (like a carpet, as st. augustine does) and that's what we're looking for, a nice thick lawn that you can walk barefoot on and not get dirty. With Bahia that's nearly impossible.
