$9 every 2 weeks out of my paycheck for the gym at work. progressive is all about personal health and well being so we have a nice gym :D
Lifestyles every once and a while has a "no startup fee" thing going on. Just call up and ask them what kinds of deals they have going on.
I got in on one of those and pay $30.70 a month.

Bally's on US19 and 580. I paid $600 up front for a lifetime membership. After 3 years I have to pay monthly dues of like $8 or $12 though. Oh, I have the real good membership too that allows me daycare and all that shit.

That's what I said. I told the kid I'd pay it all up front if he could make it cheap enough, so he stuck me on a family plan with somebody who had my same last name, I paid it, then we changed my address in the system :D

most gyms will waive startup fees
i used to do sales/mgmt at golds gym and waived our $99 startup all the time to get people to sign up, gave me $5-9 less commission per person
just go in, tell them you wont sign up unless they waive the fee or drop your monthly $5.. depends on the leeway the gym gives. i could only do $32.99 from $39.99 max, and that was under circumstances where someone constantly brought in new members, etc.
startup fee was all mine to play with though

I pay $29/mo at golds
edit: scratch that, just checked my bank account.. $26.75/month
I do Healthy Inspirations in St. Pete and for 2 months it's $535. But it's a nutritionist and personal trainer that will guarantee me weight loss and creates meal plans for me. (however do not supply the food)
My day 1 actually begins tomorrow... I have let myself go within the past 6 months and I've put on 20 lbs. So I'm going to lose that right quick plus another 15-20 after.
