I didn't mean the excavation equipment in the pictures...I was talking about the actual materials used in the construction of the pool and the equipment used (heaters, pumps, etc..)
Heritage is a customer of ours; we are a wholesale plumbing, well and pool supplier.

the deck is all paver, a big cost of the pool is that. it's just over 1,000 sqft of deck. it's "cream/beige" and it will be in a new england pattern.
the shell was shot today, i'll post pics in a few.

How long does the average install take? Your's is what, approx. 6 weeks in already?
_Chris_
07-01-2006, 12:32 PM
i was told 8-10 weeks, but.. it seems like it'll take a little longer. we're at about 8 weeks now. there have been a few holdups though, some changes we needed made that may have delayed it a bit though. i'm hoping by the end of july... permitting took 2 weeks.

What did you end up doing for your spillover?
My parents had a pool w/ a spillover at our old house, they had glass brick topped with a slab of marble. looked nice!

They're saying end of the month... What's left is..
1-2 Days of Plumbing, 1 day for tile, 1 for grout. 1-2 days for paver deck, acid wash, apply finish, left finish cure, acid wash, then fill. Now... if they get their asses out here every day and put in a full days work, it may just be by the end of the month! :D I can't wait
More pics....

FINALLY some more progress, Equipment and Paver deck are installed, it's looking like next satuday from what they say, that will be a total of 15 weeks construction (quoted 8-10) I would NOT recommend them. They're thurough and do quality work and use quality materials, but they're SLOW, It would be one thing if they told me upfront it would be this long, but... anyway, here's the pics :D

it's not neccessarily the time it's taking, it's the fact that i was quoted 8-10 weeks and so far we're at 15, the company's employees don't put in a full days work, come around 10-11 gone by 2, most days. The owner repeatedly tells me a date he can finish and obviously, still hasn't come through. I'm very happy with the work and materials, it's just aggrevating when summer is going along without this pool to use LoL, ESP since I've been paying for it since the begining of construction... >:|

Looks real nice man. My company deals with pool builders every day and I don't think I ever saw a pool completed on exact time. How much money you give them up front is also important. You give them half upfront they will go pretty damn slow. I'm sure 1 or 2 days a week no one even showed up, did they?
Now it will be getting cool soon here, so I suggest you get a pool blanket if you don't have one already. And the spillover will lose you some heat as well. You will spending ALOT of money to keep the pool warm the next few months with propane with no blanket and running the spa spillover. Just some info to keep in mind. And if you are interested in getting solar heating for it, let me know. I'll give you a great price. Enjoy your pool man.

8-10 weeks is a really fast turn around time for building pools, espically of the size and detail. My neighbor owns a pool business and he did ours last year. We had the same issue with the finish time. The bad part was when we had ours built it took about 3 months because of the storms and shit. I wouldnt stress out too much about the time it took to build it.

that shit is pimpin'. If you want to do some landscape lighting and make that thing pimpin' at night as well as day let me know. I am trying to do some installs and I assure you it won't be $100 per fixture as I've seen some companies advertise.

Did the company that did your pool start with an S? Has it been the one they've been talking about on the radio?

No, it's not S&S pools.
The day the owner received the call from ABC, he called me and all the sudden wants to come finish... we'll see, right now my equipment is taken apart, still waiting on everything else.
