I've never owned an aquarium. How hard is it to keep a saltwater tank up? Also...stupid question...where do you get the saltwater? Do you use freshwater and add a mixture, or...?
Are freshwater tanks easier to maintain?
Thanks for any tips/advice.

Salwater tanks aren't that hard to keep.. I have a 195g that has been up and running for about a year now.
For your saltwater, yes you buy bags of oceansalt and premix it to get your salinity correct.
And yes again, freshwater tanks are almost idiot proof.. But the fish are way MORE colorful but more expensive for saltwater tanks....
Just go buy a saltwater tank and get it setup.. Then hop over to the saltwaterfish.com forums and introduce yourself, and you will get all the help you need from those guys.. very informative people over there!!!
Good luck!!! By the way, it gets rather expensive and very addictive! :-)

Saltwater is the only way to go.Its very easy once your tank is established.Set the tank up with plenty of livesand and liverock. That is natures filter.I have a 220gallon a 90gallon and a 30gallon show tank.Fish only or fish only with liverock is simple.Corral is a bit harder.Go to reefcentral.com .Its the best most informative site I have found.Dion....Hows the pup doing?Im gonna send you some pics a guy just emailed me from the last litter. You will shit.I didnt know you were into tanks.I would have loved to show mine off.
