First, I removed the existing granite blacksplash so the tile blacksplash could run down to the countertop

Then I protected my surfaces with Painters tape and a piece of a cardboard box

I Covered all Holes from outlets (all wiring was run to power strip under cabinet)

Layed out the design in the garage.
Granite pieces are Baltic Brown 4" squares, I also used strips of 1/2" tumbled stone, 4" tumbled stone, the filler pieces around the granite are 6" tumbled stone cut into 4 pieces.

With Type 1 premixed Tile/Stone adheisve,I began to lay out the first row

contd...

Once everything was in place, it sat for about 30 hours.

1 hour before grouting I sealed all the stone to prevent grout staining (not nessecary with tiling with non-natural stone)

Using C-pro "linen" colored grout I began to spear it into the cracks with a grout float, this part is tricky, filling in all the spaces.

once that was done I started cleaning it with a spunge, the first cleaning is the most difficult, scrubbing the grout off the tile without scrubbing the grout out of the lines. I then went on the clean it 3 more times, rinsing the spunge often to prevent grout discoloration.

Waited 2 hours then buffed off the remaining haze with a soft, dry cloth.

the finished product

the only thing left to do is use a clean spunge and aquamix high gloss sealer to seal the stone/grout 48 hours after grouting.

hope this was informative for anyone looking to try this themselves.
