Well I got a new laptop a couple weeks ago and its already got a virus. Now I keep getting popups to get adwear/spywear off of it but Ive already those programs on that system. Now I cant even get onto Int. Exp. at all. :dunno: Should I just take it in and have it looked at or is there something I can do at home to fix the problem. I wouldnt be loosing anything on the laptop beings its new. Any help would be appreciated.

Make sure you go to windows update and get all the newest security fixes.

There are a ton of infected winxp machines just looking for un updated computers.

5 easy steps

1: Download Debian image
2: Burn image to disc
3: insert into Cd rom drive
4: Reboot
5: follow installation instructions

follow those steps and you will never have spyware or a virus ever again :)

has debian made it far enough to compete the fedora on ease of use and installation

not exactly but there are flavors that are easier to install then a copy of windows like ubuntu or the variations of ubuntu like Kubuntu or Xubuntu

Dude maybe you shouldn't have a brand new laptop if you got a virus within like 2 weeks of owning it..;)
