after alot of work im in my house. its not much but i have a mortgage and its all mine. basically when i got it everyone said it needed to be condemed and knocked dowm. luckly that just meant the price was right and now i can make about 3x what i paid for it. i got the outside basically done so the insurance company would calm down( they were giving us a hard time about the condition of the house when i tried to get insurance). now im working on the inside, originally there were no doors or really even any walls, you could walk through the wall from the kitchen to the bathroom because it was so rotted, and my hot water heater fell through the floor and was on teh ground because it leaked and rotted the wood under it.
Then

just a cople weeks ago i put in a paver walk way from the front door to the dead grass driveway...im still not sure what im going to do about the driveway though, either a slab or dig it up and put in rocks again.
so what do you all think?
UPDATE!! Put up a new fence, and put on a new dark green roof.

its in holiday near tarpon springs. yeah i have no before shots of the inside. i have current shots of the bathroom that i recently completely re-did. and i have picts of the living room now but im about to start completely re-doing it with everything new.

the bathroom is the only room that is finished when i got the house the bathroom was a tub and a toilet, the floor under the toilet was rotted away and the wall on the right was basically gone. a little dry wall, ceramic tile, paint, and 2 days of work it is done
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a54/neondriver/My%20House/Picture005.jpg

the living room. there was a hole in the wall going into the bed room for air flow. but im getting rid of the wall unit and filling in all the holes/openings. im planning to get rid of the celin fan, put in 6 high hat lights, paint it light blue with white chair/floor molding and light wood pergo floor. also getting a new front door.

Nothing like a good amount of elbow grease and some ambition. You'll make a nice profit on that house when the inside matches the outside.

On the driveway... Pavers. Pavers always catch the eyes.

I bet your new neighbors love you

yeah to an extent, my one neighbor works out of their house so there home 24/7 and they complaign about noise from either me taking the bike out (open hedder) or trying to fix my car (which is lous ad hell also. my parents originally bought the 1st 2 houses on the block and sold the 1st one that the people fully remodeled, then the 2nd which is the one i bought, then a new one is going in 3 houses down. it was a really crappy neighborhood but it is starting to clean up alot

Wow that looks amazing.. I can't wait til I get a bit older w/ a full time job so I can flip houses! For the driveway, IMO, go with concrete slab.. The pavers may be a bit too much for the house- I don't even know of a color that would match your house color. Flagstone would look good- it matches the style, and I don't think its as expensive at pavers would be.

I also like the door trim, but you're going to be painting the wooden corners on it right?

Keep the pics coming!

neondriver
07-25-2006, 01:24 PM
yeah im thinging pavers would be too expensive for me, yeah i still need paint, i dont know about the corners though...im planning on putting wood floors in so it might match..but if not it would take 2 minutes to paint

I have seen before on HGTV where they sanded down the original wood floors and stained them, they looked really good afterwards so i reccomend doing that. I LOVE hardwood flooring! I can't believe they even covered it up in the first place! And the trim around the windows look great!

Did you put in brand new windows right when you bought the house?

neondriver
07-26-2006, 11:46 PM

updated finally!. i put everything on the 1st page. new things are: a new roof, front door, front pvc fence, back deck, the living roon is done, the bedroom is done, the exterior is almost done. all that is left for an inter room is the kitchen, then to the garage/laundry room.
