Anyone have any experience with installing crown moldings on cement block walls? I'm having troubles finding a way that doesnt involve a freaking ton of work. I put some up with liquid nails and it is holding good on the top where the molding meets the ceiling but where it meets the wall it doesnt want to hold all the way (i think its because of the paint on the wall).
Anyone have any ideas?

Screws wont work for the type of crown im using, where i need to nail it, the screw heads would be too big.

i dunno man, maybe talk to someone at the home depot or wherev and see if there is an adhesive that will work better.
Push come to shove and you REALLY want this done, you could figure out where to screw a 1x2 or something to the wall so that when your molding is place over it and you drive a finishing nail into it it bites into the 1x2 w/o going all the the way through. :dunno:

damn, I would've thought Liquid Nails would do the trick. Was the wall dusty?

This is the way to go if you cant find an adhesive that will work.

Right on, this is the correct way to do this. If your crown is large enough, it should have a good gap behind it, put up your corner piece and attach to the wall with tapcons.
