This is gonna sound terrible no matter how I say it so whatever.
I grew up in Maine. There was like one black family while I was growing up and the kids only went to our school for like 6 months. There were no minorities.
The only blacks I ever saw were on tv other than that 1 family. It was either Cosby show or blacks getting locked up on shows like Hillstreet blues and shit like that.
I stepped off the plane in Tampa in 97' and was like in culture shock.
My sons have had a much more diverse childhood than I did.
