On October 28, 2006, the first ever Multiple Sclerosis Fitness Challenge/Health Fair will be held at the University of South Florida’s Sundome. The MS Fitness Challenge will be a fun and healthy way to raise money and make a difference in the lives of over 400,000 people suffering from the devastating effects of Multiple Sclerosis. They will also have the opportunity to get information and screening on many different medical conditions including high blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, dementia, headaches, and multiple sclerosis.
Participants will be able to have their community sponsor them while they compete in fitness challenge events including spinning, obstacle courses, basketball, health fair, etc. Also part of the festivities will be fitness activities for children, raffles, and a silent auction.
The idea for the event was conceived to raise money for MS research at the University of South Florida’s College of Medicine.
USF, in conjunction with pharmaceutical, fitness, and nutrition industry professionals, are all coming together to fight the debilitating effects of this disease by organizing this event that will be fun for all ages and physical abilities.
An after party with a fashion show put on by Nicolas Felizola will be held at the Hard Rock the evening of the event. Internationally renown, Nicolas’s fashion line has been portrayed in numerous magazines and draped many celebrities. The event will be poolside where hoer‘s d oeuvres and cocktails will be served.
