I just moved into my new apartment and when I signed up for Road Runner, I signed up through a form my employer sent me, on my bill I got today I noticed that my RR plan is now listed as "Virtual Office-telework"... what does that mean exactly? I'm still on the 7mb plan right? The price didn't go up, but I don't think I'll be able to use my student discount from SPC now would I? I try to avoid calling up BHN since I've noticed that the people on here seem to know more than the Reps do and they don't even have to transfer me, look it up in a manual, or ask their friend for the answer.

The Virtual Office package offers you:
* Incredibly fast broadband speeds to your employees home
* A Static IP address
* Unique domain email accounts
* Priority 24/7/365 technical support
More information (http://tampaent.brightbiz.com/Products%20and%20Services/virtual_office.asp)
Yes, you probably still have 7Mb/.5Mb services. ; )
~Tech for BHN.

Teleworker accounts dont have the Zyxel so no static IP.
Rabid, is your employer paying for the service?

You sure you can't have a static IP on a non-Zyxel modem?
I'm not a level IV, so I don't know for sure, but I was told otherwise.

You cant, Zyxel's are the only modems that BHN has that can handle a static IP. You don't have to be a level 4 to know that. Should i been taught to you in training. unless the split the commercial training off from the first training course. (BTW i work for BHN)
Rabid, i bet there is some sort of contract with BHN and Raymond James.

Only Level IV's know anything about the Commercial side now.
Level I's deal with only residential accounts - and Commercial classes are no longer happening - its either Level IV or nothing. : (
You were right btw, sorry, I didn't know about that static deal before.

Forgot about UBr's but i doubt he would have one. Ambit modems must be newer. Havnt been on the phn's in months so i dont keep up to date with the cable side anymore.
Also, with the service it says he has (VO - Teleworker) a Zyxel would be the modem that would be issued had he required a static.

Virtual Office can be static or dynamic, depends on the package your on, i see teleworkers from United Healthcare, Home shopping, even some BHN employees, the zyxel's are for static, the UBR's are being phased out, at least thats what I was told. I dont work directly for BHN, I contract out through Knight Enterprises. We handle most of their PC Trouble Calls (when the level IV's can't get it done they send me. We do commercial installations, and zyxel programming. I also make commision sales on every thing I sell (Pinellas only damnit) Hit me up for more info.

This is true. My wife and I had the SPC discount and when Raymond James announced this, I switched to it and got the lowest business/teleworker package. I save $2 or so a month more than the SPC discount but the SPC discount is gone, only get the teleworker package. I do need to call back about the speeds though because the tech and I both think the speeds are too low for what I signed up for.

Jesus the stories we could tell each other, Today I had an older man excuse himself from the room and as he walked away all I could hear was his ass tooting all the way down the hallway. I installed a NIC in his ME box, then went to find him only to end up waiting for him to finish in the bathroom for almost 10 minutes. Or maybe the other old guy in a trailer, that answered the door with his willy flapping 3 feet from my face.
