I was wondering if its good to buy an xbox 360 now or wait until a newer one is released, also if I purchase an xbox what are recommended games to buy for it?
I currently play WoW basically all my free time I have from school or when I'm not out with friends so I'm looking for something to do other than playing WoW. :crack:
*edit* Also, I'll more then likely be getting Xbox live since online playing makes games more fun after beating them once.

most def worth getting a 360 I love mine , but make sure you get the one with the harddrive and you get a free month of online fun . You can download all these cool game demos and play them to see ig you want to buy the games 1st . Also you can get on the demos and play online agianst others like on LOST PLANET or FarCry . Its real fun to play agianst others . Also you can download games like MK3 and play online agianst others . If you buy the one with the hard drive and have the head set u can talk smack and what not . Also you can play all your old games as well . Buy Oblivian .Its a great game graphics are bad ass and play is to . Also buy Gears of War ..one of the best games ever . So do your self a favor and buy a 360 . I just got mine a month ago and havent had any problems go fot it

I would recommend it being that the 360 has gotten me back into gaming. The online features are excellent and the whole achievement thing sort of makes you want to play each game more. I also like how it integrates with my iPod's playlists. My only real complaints are I wish it was doing better in Japan (I like a lot of Japanese games) and I wish Microsoft would have put a bigger HDD on it to begin with.
Games I would recommend:
Gears of War
PGR3
Call of Duty 2
Viva Pinata
Geometry Wars (on XBL)
and even though it won't be out until late next month or early March, Guitar Hero II

You can do online with both I believe, but with the Premium system you have the HDD also so you don't have to purchase one seperately.

but is it really worth the price difference for someone who doesn't play a whole lot but would like to be able to play madden and maybe a couple other games once in awhile?

I wouldn't recommend the core system at all. You'll need the HDD to get the most out of Xbox Live (I think the premium system still comes with a free month of XBL Gold membership too).
Also, if you're planning on buying it, I would recommend getting it from Best Buy or Circuit City with the extended warranty. The systems are getting more reliable but all game consoles have a fair number of defective units (unfortunately).

Core system is not worth saving the $100, you don't get the wireless controller, and most importantly, you only get a composite cable. Component only comes with the premium, unless you buy it seperately, in which case you might as well have bought the premium unit as it cost $50+.

Just an update, I did purchase a 360, and although I haven't gotten any games yet, I've hooked it up to my LAN, and the new Windows Media Center feature is nice on it, I can watch videos on my tv now without burning them to DVDs.
Also, the 20gig HDD doesn't seem like its going to be enough for me, I've noticed the demos are around 500-1gb each, so should I just play and delete them all or am I not going to have a problem with saved games and demos.
you should play the new MMORL !

I have the regular X-Box that I've had for about 4-5 years, and I only play sports games on it period and nothing more.
