My daughter is turning 1, and she's never been to the beach in Tampa Bay. It's mostly my fault, I've travelled too much to have time, but we're going next weekend. Here's my question:
What are the best beaches in Tampa Bay? Remember, I'll have my one year old daughter with me....

Im a fan of St. Pete beach. Usually not to crowded so you should be good with the little one. Clearwater is ok but always packed. Where abouts do you like? There are some better beaches in Sarasota like Anna Maria (i think its in Sarasota).....

Siesta Key is the best hands down IMO. Clearwater is not bad, but very packed and stuff.

I'm in Land O Lakes, so I don't mind going to St. Pete or Clearwater. Sarasota is kinda far. Where is Siesta key?

Clearwater is probably the best as far as sand and whatnot, but with how crowded it is it definitely drops down on my list. When I go to the beach I usually head to Sunset Beach. Nice sand, nice area, and it's never crowded.
I love Fort DeSoto park's North end beach personally. It's rarely ever crowded, and they have picnic tables and grills set up in the shade near the water. On the left hand side of north end they have your regular beach setting where most of the people hang out, but if you stay to the right, it's a little more secluded. That's were we are usually at. It has to be one of the most beautiful beaches I've been to, and they were voted one of the top beaches in 2005.

i like honey moon island. u can go far out in the water and it's still not going to be knee length. the sand is better than indian rocks beach, but not as good as clearwater (in my opinion) u have to pay 5 bucks to get in though.
madiera beach looks nice too

i love Treasure island in St. pete. or maybe that is St. Pete beach, i dont know lol. But it is the only beach i will go to because the beach area is HUGE so there is plenty of room to "play" and down by the water isnt filled with shells and it is NEVER crowded

Seconded! This place is beutiful and was one of the first places I had a chance to visit after moving to florida. It's also great place to shoot around if your a novice photographer (like me).

Anna Maria Island is hella nice.which is right by sarasota. Its worth the drive trust me
The north side of the Clearwater Beach normally has very few people and is always the family side of the beach.

im sure he just wants to go to the beach and not worry about cooking and stuff with a baby. I think Clearwater would be his best bet. Little bit of entretainment at night, restaurants all over the place and a playground for picture time;)... sounds good to me.
