I dont currently have any way of monitoring my credit other then once a year I do the anual credit report deal. I would like to have a monitoring deal so I can keep an eye on it all..
My questions are:
Do you use one?
Is it worth it?
Does it affect my credit score with them pulling it every so often?
Who should I use (if worth doing)?

You get three free credit reports a year, one from each of the three agencies. Instead of getting them all at once, get one every four months.

I usually go to "www.myfico.com" in order to get details of all my credit. I even have the score tracker thing. It's scary how they keep tabs on your credit card, almost exactly like your credit card. God forbid you get 30 days late.. that little marker, indicating your delinquency will stick around for a good while (only 12 months :dunno: )

i use freecreditreport.com THey send me an email EVERY time an entry is made good or bad. Login and I can see that shit, the agencies it hit, and I can also see a running graph of my credit score. its very nice and im not exactly sure how much it costs. it must not be much because i never notice it hit my account. i spend $4 on stupid bs every single day, why not once a month to monitor something that directly effects my ability to make and save money?

you get a free 30 day pass, as long as you call and cancel before that time your fine, or do what i did, i lowered it to only get one credit report, but i can still see when something hits all 3, and i only pay like 4.99

check around online for promo codes, goto transunion thier's is called truecredit with promo's it's around 11bucks a month you can pull all 3 report daily, and it pull's soft inquires so they can't hurt your score even if pulled daily, they give you a fake score but a close enough one. the only place to get a real score is myfico.com but they get expense to pull alot.
you can also try experian or equiafax but thier services only let you monitor one report thiers.
i do use these report to know my scores and i use them with the credit pull database on creditboards.com before i apply for credit. credit pull's are other users scores when they applied for a credit card and if they got aprroved and what agencie the company pulled some only check eq or tu some all three, this helps keep inqs down by spreading them around, or some reports are cleaner than other and you can apply to only cards or companies who pull lets say transunion since that might be your best one.

Is the actual site.
Freecreditreport is almost a scam. They let you view the stuff as long as you also 'secretly' sign up for some strange monthly thing... its supposed to be a trial for 30 or so days and then they bill you 14 bucks a month.

What is Credit Monitoring?
Consumer credit reporting agencies offer to "monitor" your credit for a fee. Credit monitoring services can be costly. These services cost anywhere between $43.80 per year to nearly $150.00 per year depending upon the provider. Typically, these services say they will notify you if anything unusual or suspicious appears on your consumer credit report. Don't bother with credit-monitoring services. Instead, you should monitor your own credit.
How to Monitor Your Own Credit
You can monitor your own credit and make sure that your record represents you fairly and accurately by ordering and regularly reviewing your consumer credit reports from the three major reporting agencies. You can request a report from each of the three consumer credit reporting bureaus at the same time. The advantage of reviewing the three reports at once is that you can get a complete picture of your consumer credit report history that could be reported to others. However, if you want to monitor the accuracy of your consumer credit reports throughout the year, request your report from one bureau initially, then follow up with another bureau's report four months later and the third four months after that. This is an effective way to monitor your credit at no cost.
If you find errors, no matter how small, be sure you get them fixed, and make sure that you contact all three bureaus with your change. You should receive amended reports within a week after the changes take effect.
Be sure you close long unused accounts that are listed as still active on your consumer credit report. An unused account is an opportunity for an identity thief. If you close an account ask that it be listed as "closed at the request of the consumer."
