View Full Version : Check out this house..
Alright so maybe the for sale forum would be the place for this, but the traffic here is far greater and I figured this was the best place for it. If it gets a shit ton of looks and no one posts, well we know it bombed and it'll fade the same day so please leave it up.
My neighbors are selling their house and the details can be seen below. Its a beautiful place compared to what it used to look like. They are moving because he got a job in GA and is moving there for the new job. Have a look and please let me know if you are interested. Why me? Because of course there is a catch, a referral will earn me a few bucks.

If they wanna buy a house I hope they can read and find the number for contacting the guy, God I hope so. Anyways back to the top!

Maybe it's just the pics not doing it justice but that doesn't look nearly nice enough to be 180k. 5 or 6 years ago my parents sold a 5 bedroom, 2 story house with waterway access/dock that was about 3200 sq ft for 275k......this was before the housing bubble broke.
I dunno, I'm talking out of my ass, I've never bought a house.

$179,900 for 1240 sf = $145 per sf
That's really high, especially in today's market.
It appears to be in excellent shape for a 50 year old house, and the big deck in the back looks cool, but it's only 2 BR, 1240 sf, and only a 1-car garage. Gonna be a real tough sell given current market conditions, IMHO.
Good luck!

Lower by 30k and you might sell.

Don't buy any real estate; let the motivated sellers squirm. The more people who default on their mortgages, the quicker housing prices fall. Housing isn't a market, it's a speculative bubble. If everyone waits on buying property for a while, houses like the 50-year-old concrete block deal listed above will be under $80k again.

ummmm 50 years old, 1200sq ft, 2bed/bath, and it's in the middle of st. pete
I don't care what an appraisal says, it's not a 180k house. 4bed/2bath/2000sq ft/2 car garage/ 8800sq ft lot/ cul-de-sac/ 4 years old/ vaulted ceilings/ tiled wet areas.......$240-$260K. It may look nicer than before, and it does look like an ok house, just not anywhere near 180K.
Could be, dont know, never bought a house and wont be anytime soon because the market today = rape and the pay I make = just about the same *smile and be happy so as not to shoot yourself*
It is a nice place compared to what it was for sure, but like I said idk shit about pricing for housing and its not my specialty. I am just throwing it out there for people because I can possibly make 500 bucks and someone might be in need of a new place as well.

WERD...don't buy any real estate around here right now...prices still have a long way to fall...I'm waiting until 2009 to start looking again.
Despite what everyone else has said here. I think the place looks great. It's in the target appraisal. It has a deck, a lake view, and looks pretty damned good from the small, not-so-detailed pictures.
I would offer them 150 if I were looking for a house.

NO offense, but you might not want to put out that you're getting a 'referral fee'...
