yeah...its a nice car, and sweet driving, but cmon guy, there are guys in tampa doing the SAME thing, its nothing 'new', XAT racing is building right now an LS1 powered 240, it may be done already, i dunno, but it belongs to Jonas I believe on TR. Umm, also some of the best drift drivers are right out of Tampa and work at these shops, like i said, its impressive, but nothing 'new' :)

XAT built this car too lol I saw it at the Last MR2 Dyno day they had at the new shop. They also dynoed their beast ass SR20 240 Drag car I have pics somewhere and video

Drifting is awesome. Watching it is one thing, but to be in the drivers seat is another. I just wish my Mustang actually had a decent rearend in it when I went to my first drift event like 4 years ago. No posi makes my right handed turns a reaal bitch! Its so much fun to just slide around corners while being in control of an out of control car.....

This is a shitty pic but heres t he car at XAT, i had a shot of the Engine somewhere but you can see the tubing coming off the TB its huge, sorry for the blurryness it was pretty far away with a point and shoot camera they wouldnt let us back by it.

Maybe one day when you have a fast car and not a busted old fox you might understand. I spend money an making my car 'have' traction, not lose it. But it looks like your the one that has stepped away from motorsports, cause I would hardly consider drifting a motorsport. Thats like calling 2 15second cars in a burnout contest a 'motorsport'.

haaaaaaa you dont know the first thing about a foxbody nor my fox. My shit was fucking seriously immaculate the day I bought it and it was a daily driver/weekend warrior. I got into trouble with it and let it sit in the backyard in all its glory because I was only going to get myself into serious trouble with the law. Drifting is a motorsport, just like drag racing, bike racing, autocross etc. Just because you cant figure out how to drive a car with serious skill, dont knock it.You buy parts to make your car go fast and this is different from drifters who buy parts to make their cars drift better, HOW??????

it's nothign people haven't been doing for years, just didn't have a catchy movie to make it popular.
it's equivalent to a burnt out conest.

Now with all that said it is fun to watch and do when in proper surroundings.

It's not a motorsport.. It's a fad and will probably die out. The only reason it would stay is it's relatively easy for a cheap car to bet setup to drift.. So young kids that can't afford faster high end cars or faster cars or the knowledge to actually race, drift instead.

The point to drifting is not to just spin tires everywhere and make as much smoke as possible, but is it cool? Sure, thus we have a Supercharged LS-1.
Some ricers think they can drift, sure...
Some drag racers think they are fast too, yet they have wings as tall as the roofline and run 15 second slips.
The same rule can be applied over every sport.

the video is of Mikespeed95 and like some people said...he comes off as a big douche...
he used to work for XAT, before this ls1 240 he was drifting an ls1 el camino in formula D, he used to live in tampa and these clips are mostly from events around central florida.
he is/was (he's in geogia now) not the only ls1 240 in tampa either, matt chin has a ls1 s13 hatch, and XAT installed an ls1 in an s14a with working A/C, and there are probably more i dont know about.
bottom line: awesome driver, somewhat douche according to people, nothing new...

Drifting a car isnt easy, and yes people have been doing it for years in road-racing, in fact the first "account of drifting" was back in the early 1920s when enzo ferrari went for a ride along and witnessed tazio nuvolari perform the "4-wheel drift" around bends of the road.
You mullets think all it takes is mashing the gas pedal and turning? just as how there is skill in NASCAR there is skill in Drifting. Controlling a sliding car requires precise throttle and gear control, not to mention the amazing pedal work involved. Heel toeing and clutch kicking while steering, shifting gears, and e-braking takes alot of coordination.
