This is truth. My Mom had her house on the market for about a year and no one person looked at it. It was priced at book too.

Did you notice two of those properties increased their asking price? There are some good deals right now but I'm going to wait a little longer.

What do you consider a good deal is? I still think we have a good ways to go for good deals. There was a house that we looked at in 06 little over an acre. There asking price was some where in the 500k range. The house sold in late 06 for 485k. Now that some house just come back on the market for 315K. So stick around it's only gonna get cheaper.

Oh I agree 100%. I'm just saying 315k is a good deal next to 500k. If I end up buying a home in the Tampa Bay area, I'm probably going to wait 6-18months... I want to move to DC but I might just stick around for awhile because I think properties in FL and CA will perform better after the market bottoms.

There's a really sweet house right across the street from me, 5/2.5/2, about 3300 sf with a brand new pool, spa, and screened lanai, custom hardwood floors, etc. It was listed at $349K and has been sitting on the market for over a year...NOBODY has come to look at it...NOBODY.

If your on the Pinellas side I've been looking at 2/2 places on Indian Rocks Beach and a little south of that (south of Bellair, where the Hogans live)...and the price is right around $1000-$1200 per month.
Go a little closer inland (away from the water), and you'll get a little bit of a cheaper rate. Good luck with the search, CraigsList is a huge resource on renting a place! : )

We are expecting from 1200-1500, we dont have to be right on the water, just close enough to walk to or a short drive. we have been checking out jobs and the entry level is more down there then what it is here so maybe we can catch a break and maybe make a little more down there.

do you have a degree in anything or already have a profession that your working in?
the reason i ask is the job market here isnt the best. there are lot of people that dont have jobs or have had to take entry level jobs in other fields.
