I actually didnt like him much in the begining. But I have warmed up to him a bit more lately. One of the thing that made me take more notice of him was something he said a few debates ago. Everyone was asked thier stance on torture.
Romneys answer got booed...but after thinking about it...his answer was by far the best IMO...espcially in a time of war. He stated he would not disclose the actual policy of torture because thats not information that a potential enemy of the US should have and we should not broadcast on the internet and news that we will NEVER torture. Some level of deterrent should remian in place. IOW...secret policies on national defense should remain secret. Keeping your enemies guessing is good...even if we DONT torture.
In that same debate McCain said NO torture...and that got me thinking also...I wonder if he is answereing along the same lines as Romney...just in a more deceptive manner.
IMO to state that NEVER under ANY curcumstances would the US ever torture someone for info would be a big mistake. These "torture watch" groups will classify us based on thier own info anyways.
Anyways...after thinking about that I have followed Romney a bit closer.....I think he may actually be an effective leader...which is what washington needs
I could care less about him being mormon and wearing funny long johns. IMO He is better than Huckabee.
Many will not agree with my assesment but

I like the guy, I want to see him as President. He has many good economy building ideas by cutting taxes, whereas the dems want to raise all taxes and regulate the free market. Also he is a good talker, which I think will take him far these years

I get the same vibe from him. He ain't no Ronald Reagan but I'm starting to think Mitt might be the guy to have in a recession. My big concern about him is the war and how he'll handle being Commander-in-Chief.
I'm warming to Romney more and more each day, but I've yet to decide any candidate has my vote

After Thompson dropped, I feel Romney is probably my choice... (At least now he supports the NRA...)
Hey, maybe he'll pick up Thompson as a VP. :)

i don't like him. he just tells people what they want to hear, even when there is no way he could follow through on what he's saying. like when he was in michigan promising to bring manufacturing jobs back.

Romney is a SOB. He tends to not be honest...
and once on a road trip from Boston to Ontario, he didn't have room for his dogs inside his car so he tied them to the top. When they relieved themselves in fear, Mitt just hosed his car off with them on there. True story.

If I had to vote for a Repub it would be McCain...at least he doesn't try to bullshit you as much as far as I can see....he just comes out and says "yeh those jobs went overseas and they're not coming back."
I was taken back when I found out the guy was a Mormon but then I saw a 9 minute long clip of him talking about religion in the U.S. and I reallyyyy liked what he had to say about it and I warmed up to him after that.
But... I just have a hard time trusting candidates. I have allowed myself to be ignorant because ever since the beginning of December, I've been a full supporter of John McCain and now last minute I'm checking out other people and I feel like I'm leaning more towards a business-minded person.. especially in this recession.

Romney isn't my favorite candidate but IMO he's the best out of the remaining pack. I would much rather see Mitt in the White House then either of the two democrat front runners.

Of the republican front runners, I like McCain the most. Though I have warmed up to Mitt Romney and would def. vote for him over Billary.
People like to get on McCain over McCain-Feingold and his initial resistance to the Bush tax cuts. While these are two faults he has come around and now supports making the Bush tax cuts permanent. I think if McCain keeps his word he would be a veto-heavy president and would do his best to reduce excess spending and keep us on a budget.
The best way government can help in a recession is to cut taxes and spending, not give 150 billion dollar handouts. A balanced budget would put some strength back in the dollar.

McCain's actions speak more loudly then words, he will say anything to get elected, I don't trust him. He has done all these things that are very moderate to liberal in position and he wants me to believe that he's a conservative.
I believe Harris's fake religion more then I believe McCain's fake conservatism.

He seems like just another politician, and he's kind of anti-gun for a Repub, but he's supposedly a fiscal conservative. He wouldn't be my first choice, but I could live with him as President. He'd be planets better than Hillary!

Not a fucking chance in hell of that, dude! Obama is the Dems only chance of retaking the WH. Hillary is unelectable on a national level...she would get crushed by any of the GOP front-runners in the general election.

Actually, I think its quite the opposite. If Obama won the Republicans would tear him a new one. They would scream about his past drug use and make up stories like he is a muslim extremist. Hillary has proven herself to Democrats by showing that she can take the heat and dish it right back.

Problem is Hillary is not even getting endorsed by the big Dems or popular celebrity women. She way win some primary states but when the masses come out I think things are going to look quite different.
She is viewed as a royal insincere bitch by many and it is spot on.
And yeah all of the Repubs are going to make Obama look like a terrorist.

I've already seen it. Making fun of his name because his middle name is Hussein and his last name rhymes with Osama. Sending out long mass e-mails about how unpatriotic he is and how much of a muslim extremist he is. This is all your Conservative think tanks at work.
As for Kennedy endorsing Obama I think its pretty confusing since just a few weeks ago they had a spat.

Here is Kennedy responding.

As for your comment about Hillary. I think she has the power to tear any of the Reps a new one. 8)
