He ran a bad campaign that had almost no energy. With such a tight race it will be interesting to see which candidate his supporters turn to. The two rumors swirling around are that Thompson will not endorse anyone (this would be unusual move) and the other rumor says he will endorse McCain (which would be a surprise to me.)

If I had to guess, I'd say his supporters turn more to Ron Paul, making Paul's candidacy into a legitimate contender. j/k :lol: I actually think Romney benefits more than anyone else but I'd say on Monday we'll have a better idea what effect (if any) his departure from the race will have.
